I need to add the verbal commits links for everyone because players seem to be announcing their intentions to transfer every 5 minutes!! They now have a feature where they have the names of the recent transfers scrolling on the top of the page. A name that pops out on the 'Recent Transfers' list is a 6'10" 250 pound junior center named Trey Edmonds from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). I have no idea if GW would be interested but ANY center in the portal with that sort of size needs to be mentioned/speculated about here!! I even put his profile down below, he's from Denver and  went to George Washington High School!! Maybe, he's interesting attending George Washington again for college! LOL

About DePaul, the announcers mentioned that Villanova had beaten them by like 26 and 38 in the 2 regular season matchups, so the fact that last night's game was close was shocking. But what wasn't surprising is that DePaul had multiple opportunities to win the game at the end and I don't think they ever got clean looks, they turned the ball over on their final possession which allowed Villanova to run the clock out. I give DePaul credit for coming to New York and playing hard unlike Georgetown! What's funny about Georgetown is Cooley seemed to have a big smile on his face as his team was getting embarrassed for most of the game, he must have been relieved that the season was going to be over at about 9 eastern and he could be put out of his misery!!

Even with the injuries to Kansas, you'd expect a blue-blood like that to be competitive regardless of who is out! They also got blown out at Houston in the regular season finale. Didn't Kansas start the year as the overwhelming favorite to win the National Championship? They shouldn't be this bad even Dickinson out.

Bishop, Buchanan, Edwards and Hutchinson (were) four of the A-10's best players. How do you lose 12 straight with those guys?

I'm glad you responded, my original comment was inspired by a comment you wrote in another thread about GW losing 12 straight games with those 4 players. I didn't respond to your comment but I 100% agreed with it!! I could understand those struggles with one of MoJo's or JC's teams where GW was trying to turn Chicken SH@# into Chicken Salad but this group wasn't as bad as those teams. I got triggered reading that GW ended the season 1-14 and had to comment!! LOL

I'm seeing the line has gone from GW as a 1.5 point underdog to a 3.5 point underdog so a lot of money is being bet on La Salle.

It seems as if ALL of Tony Bennett's teams (even his elite teams) have been offensively challenged, when you combine that with them having a hard time winning at Virginia Tech in recent years, you get a horrific 34 point loss. Virginia scored 49 points in a win over the weekend.

About dmvpiranha's list of teams with acting losing streaks, Missouri hosts #5 Tennessee tonight at 7 on the SEC Network. I'm interested to see what the atmosphere/effort is like for a BCS team that has lost 12 straight games, especially playing a Final Four caliber team like Tennessee.

Georgetown is in an interesting situation when they host St.John's tomorrow night on FS1 because St. John's coach Rick Pitino basically threw all of his players under the bus (saying things like they weren't athletic, they don't play hard, they don't play smart, etc., he even called some of them out by name) after they lost at home to Seton Hall on Sunday. Playing Georgetown would normally be a GET RIGHT game for a team, but I'm curious to see how St.John's plays after Pitino put all of the blame on his players.

Yuta and Memphis is about to tip off against the Milwaukee Bucks on TNT. Jaren Jackson Jr. is out for this game, so their already depleted roster is even more depleted so Yuta may get an opportunity to get a lot of minutes and put up some great numbers tonight. Yuta is not starting but I expect he'll get a lot of minutes

Unfortunately, this game is already looking like the 8 previous losses that GW suffered at VCU (that DMV Piranha mentioned in his preview) as VCU has too much size, athleticism and shooting!!

Kwame Evans Jr. (Oregon) is playing right now against UCLA on CBS. The announcers mentioned that Oregon has been playing without their 2 best post players, that is probably what has allowed Kwame to get a lot of minutes. It will be interesting to see what happens with his minutes when Oregon gets their big guys back.

The game is on FS2. Georgetown is exhibiting the same selfish play, disorganized offense and poor shot selection that they displayed under Patrick Ewing!!

It's definitely a great sign that the A10 is beating all these BCS teams early in the season, we haven't seen this in a while or maybe we have and I've forgotten!! Santos played very well for Dayton, I didn't think he was on the team last year so I just typed his name in search box and Pittsburgh came up, I'll assume he transferred in from Pittsburgh!! LSU has a very good post player named Baker who is taller and a lot more skilled than Dean, I think Dean will have a hard time getting playing time as long as Baker is healthy.

Vermont vs. St. Louis          noon  ESPN
St.John's vs. Dayton           2pm  ESPN2 - if Dayton wins, they'll likely face #6 Houston in the Championship Game
Auburn vs. St.Bonaventure  7pm  ESPN2

Maryland vs.#21 Villanova   8pm   FS1 - for those of you who may enjoy seeing Maryland take it on the chin(lol), you should watch this one!

The Georgetown-Rutgers game is about to tip off on FS1. Rutgers is a 10 point favorite!! I'm seeing that former UMass guard Noah Fernandes is now the starting point guard at Rutgers The extra COVID year seems to have allowed guys to be in college for 7 or 8 years!! lol

The Dude, the NBA phasing out back-to-the-basket post players like Dickinson (and guys like Sonogo from UConn and Luka Garza in previous years) is kind of a shame to me, the NBA game is a little too one dimensional now with everyone shooting 3's and over dribbling!!

I didn't see that Georgetown lost until the day after, I would have mentioned on here if I was aware they were in a close game against a cupcake!! I bought into the Ed Cooley hype and assumed he would magically turn things around instantly, so I wasn't going to really mention Georgetown until they played a quality opponent. But it appears as if the same Patrick Ewing-esque problems (losing to/struggling against bad teams, having an unheralded player look like a superstar against them, boneheaded plays at the end of close games!) may remain with Georgetown at least for this season. Georgetown plays Rutgers tomorrow (11/15), I'll post about the time and TV schedule tomorrow.

Georgetown isn't the only local team struggling, Maryland lost to UAB after Davidson beat them!! It's worse for Maryland because they came into the season with high expectations and were not supposed to lose to the likes of Davidson and UAB to start the year.

These are some great comments from all of you about Bobby Knight. What I found most interesting about him was the extreme swings in his mood/behavior. I heard John Feinstein (who wrote 'A Season on the Brink' about Knight's 1985-1986 Indiana team) mention that Knight didn't speak to him for about 8 years, Feinstein then runs into him at a holiday tournament that the University of Maryland was participating in around 1995, and Knight was very nice to him and congratulated him on his newborn son. Feinstein also said Knight did not talk to Coach K for 9 years after Duke beat Indiana in the 1992 Final 4. Coach K called Knight to induct him into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001 and he agreed to do it. I've heard that Knight was very complimentary of Coach K (he even wore a Duke jersey or Coach K shirt at the 1986 Final 4 to celebrate Coach K making his first Final 4) up until he lost to him in 1992, which is an indication of the inherit contradiction that was posted in GW0509's link.

There is an exhibition double-header that will air on the Big 10 Network today starting at 3:30 eastern. The first game will be #9 Tennessee at #4 Michigan State followed by #1 Kansas at #25 Illinois, the proceeds from the games will go to a Maui Relief Charity. #3 Purdue played at #14 Arkansas a few days ago in front of a sold out crowd of 19,000 at Bud Walton Arena, Arkansas won 81-75 in OT. I bring this up to ask, when did top teams start playing each other in televised exhibition games? Maybe its gone on for awhile and I never payed attention, but I always assumed college teams have practices and  some "secret" scrimmages, and then the regular season starts.

UMass football is a punching bag and they don't even have a conference now. It would be a bloodbath if they joined any semi-respectable conference

I had zero knowledge or insight on UMass football until it was brought up here. I just looked it up and saw they are indeed one of 4 FBS independent schools and are terrible as you pointed out. I always thought UMass played in a lower-tier football conference, similar to Georgetown football. UMass is 1-5 and lost 52-28 at home to Arkansas State in their last game, Arkansas State's freshman QB passed for a school-record 6 touchdown in the loss! I guess it would be more beneficial for UMass to join the AAC and have all of their embarrassing losses televised on one of the big networks (ESPN, Fox, CBS or whoever has the AAC television contract) instead of what they have now!!

I think deep down ALL the colleges who leave their long-time conference (Temple, Maryland, Rutgers, Syracuse) for football money regret it because the historic rivalries are destroyed and their chances of becoming a "big fish" in a football-crazed conference are slim to none. But GW Alum Abroad summed it up perfectly with his Long answer... money, money, money!!

As for GW0509's rumor about UMass leaving the A10 for football money, I assume they would jump at the opportunity even if their football program ended up being a punching bag for whatever conference they joined.

Down below is the Quashie Family Dental-DC Raiders (Darren Buchanan) full game. DC Raiders lost by 31, but it looked like Buchanan played a lot of minutes since they only had 7 players even if he didn't contribute much offensively which GW0509 points out. I believe Buchanan is #23 in the dark jersey.
