he won in the shortest sprint, and the longest endurance, greatest American also greatest skater ever

Greatest GW Olympian - yes, not even close. Greatest US Winter Olympian, no, and not even close. Apolo Ohno - male, Bonnie Blair - female.
Blair´s harvest of gold probably does top Meyers, but Elana medaled at every Games in every event open to her. (Karl Lewis didn´t just win 100m events).
Perhaps when the USA medal winners visit the White House, the University can take advantage of Meyers being in town and offer her a ticker-tape parade down G St through campus? (Do windows on building still open? And is there a biodegradable ticker-tape equivalent? Is there even a "ticker-tape equivalent"- or just plain ticker-tape - any more? Otherwise this might be a bad idea).
