GW is just wildly inconsistent. The Davidson game showed me we can beat anyone in the A10, but games like today (and there has been a lot of them) show me that they can also lose to (or get blown out by) anyone in the A10.
See I don't believe that at all. I don't think the Davidson game showed us we can beat anyone in the A10 because teams like Dayton and SLU who have size are as close to unbeatable unless they decide to shoot nothing but 3s and miss.
However, I really don't see us ever getting blown out by LaSalle, Fordham, Duquesne. And saying we can simply lose to anyone in the A-10 is sort of a crazy standard because that's the case for pretty much every team in the A10.
Look, do I wish the deficit were tighter? Obviously. But I don't think anyone but the most rose colored glasses wearing person should've thought this would be a competitive game even with our improved play. Dayton had the 22nd best recruiting class NATIONALLY this year. The team is top to bottom 3-4 star recruits.

And therein lies the problem. How can we ever compete with the Daytons in this world. Solid team year after year, commitment to men's basktball, playing before 10,000 plus while we wallow in medicority year after year, play before hundreds, and questionalble commitment to men's basketball.

That was bad. Since this is not on USA Network, we won´t even have the pleasure of rugby highlights during halftime (and the France-Ireland game was really good). This team/program still has a mountain to climb, having gone over some molehills has not made GW conquerers. Hopefully this is the last downhill performance and ends up being viewed as glitch and not a warning, but I fear it is the later.
Exactly what are the odds that ANY coach at GW could duplicate the talent injection Hobbs and Lonergan’s best classes gave GW? Because with the new transfer environment isn’t that what GW is facing?

Dayton is basically a professional team to the locals. People root for them and buy the merch who never went to the school. It's a very enviable position to be in for sure. Probably would be a stronger Big East program than DePaul.

At least better effort in the second half, even if the talent is not any better.

Would anyone find consolation in that FSU trails UNC by 38 at halftime...62-24?

OK...its hard to argue with much of what the announcer's repeated negative comments about GW,
but enough. He needs to STFU and just call the game.

On our best day and our best year it takes a steal and 47-foot buzzer beater to win at Dayton.

Only good thing from today is Lindo actually looks engaged and playing like he’s capable of. With all our issues if he plays well we can compete with most of the A 10 teams.

Would it be considered emotional abuse to continue to play the game?

We don't beat D2 teams in exhibition this badly.

There is clearly a hitch in Bishop's shot today, probably caused by Dayton's preasure any time he touches the ball.
Online!
Why are the starters still out there? Dayton is not risking anyone to injury, so unless Bishop and JoeBam´s contracts say they have to get 35 mins per game, then I see no reason to keep them out there. (Oh yeah, Bishop could score 20 points against the Dayton scrubs to pad his stats and cover up the fact that he was 4-13 through the first 30 mins today)...

Very true,GWAA.
Finally,Amir. We didn't need defense before.

Down 27 with under 7 to go, and get called for a shot clock violation.

Dayton uniforms look like intramural. We have much nicer uniforms. Lets see the announcers try to take that from us.

One thing we've done consistently well in the second half: despite being down by around 30,we use up all the clock.

My friend who grew up in Dayton couldn't get the game. He has Xfinity and I showed him how to get it. Hope he is enjoying the butchery. Wish team hadn't given up before they got on the plane. UD owns us now like we own Umass. 68-41? Nice move by Brown. Keep bench players in. 74-47 Ugh!

There was a prop bet setting the over/under on GW only at 71.5 Thought the under sounded like a great bet, but didn't take it because I am an ethical guy.
