Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

Adding the final scores as they come in, but might not stay awake for the later ones to finish (will update in the morning if I doze off).  Also, VCU, that is a serious WTF. Wow.

VCU, only A10 to lose on Day 1.  Good night for the conference, don't know for sure but that is close to a record best day 1.

Fordham tried hard at the end to give VCU company. Wager vs Stonehill game Jan 15 is one that may invite you to avert your gaze.

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

Don’t be too shocked by VCU loss.  Will  Wade has brought some good players to McNeese and I expect them to be decent this year.

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

Go and vote (if there are elections in your district), then check out GW´s opponents in actions:
Drexel 61 @ LaSalle 67
SUNY-Albany 71 @ umASS 92

(as per ESPN, tickets to see That School Down the Street tonght are available for as little as $2 each, which is still way more than I would pay to attend a home game of Satan´s Spawn)

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

GW has a KenPom ranking of 192 after the win, but that is still 12th in the A10. Lowest A10 school (UMass) is 209.

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

The second biggest jump forward were the Hawks moving up just two spots.  Hope you all won some money yesterday because the major correction to GW's subpar pre-season rankings has apparently already begun.

On a separate note, congratulations to Coach Adrian Autry (and Asst. Coach Straughn) on Syracuse's opening victory.  The first of many, I am sure.

Updated. Not sure if I have the energy to do this every night all season, but right now GW is still in control of its NCAA destiny so, why not?

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

League is 13-1.  Quit while you’re ahead!

Kidding.  This is super helpful as long as you want to continue.

Appreciate the score watching!

There's also the "Other Games Thread" if you don't feel like posting something new every night.

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

Two items of note:
Curry College´s moniker is "Colonels", so it is only a matter of time before students there decide that the name reminds them too much of "Colonials".
Elmore James plays for Ohio, but a great bluesman like him should probably play for a Chicago-based school.

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

Interesting that two of our upcoming opponents, W&M and UNH, each had one of the larger margins of victory to begin their seasons, winning by 55 and 77 points respectively.  Of course, these wins were over Regent and Curry College, neither one to be confused with the very inappropriately named Stonehill Skyhawks.

Re: Too soon to worry about RPI/seeding?

American was crushed at Villanova on Monday.  Will be interesting to see how they fare against W&M.

Side note while watching the Villanova game - there was a sign in the student section  “American is the 2nd worst school in DC”.  Which leads to 2 conclusions:

1. everybody hates Georgetown
2.  At least GW is no worse than 3rd from the bottom 😂
