Delaware 14-18 from 2. Easy shots and just overpowering us. They are playing like seniors (like men) and we are playing like soft freshmen.

Beginning to think my listened to my heart amd not my head assessing this team. Defense is an afterthought. We can’t ever play man to man against a credible team and expect to have a chance CC’s strategy for them seemingly is let them fly down the court, heave up a three amd hope for the best. Very disappointing.

Offensive game plan is low percentage shots early in the shot clock. If we don’t turn it over first. Coach?

Exactly. If it’s not an immediate ill advised three, it’s an out of control drive through the lane and a turnover.

The body language just seems off. They look like they are mentally not in this game.
Good thing Delaware can’t shoot (all but 2 of their threes have been tried by guys aren’t good shooters so we are guarding the two three point threats) and good thing Stretch has 4 blocks.
If I’m a Delaware fan, I’d be worried that they are letting us hang around when we’ve played like absolute poop for the whole first half.

I write that and then we let Reilly, one of the good shooters get free twice.

Well, we couldn’t play worse so I guess down 13 isn’t too bad. Could easily be down 25 with how unfocused we’ve been.
We have not been aggressive at all, and when we’ve tried to be aggressive with the ball, we’re forcing bad shots or passes for the sake of being aggressive instead of just taking it to these guys.
Let’s see if CC can come up with anything at halftime.

Jackin up 3s and hitting almost none of them. Why aren't we going inside? 4 guys have scored! Awful! Struggling mightily outside the Smith Center.

One thing the coach can try to figure out is how to get our best 3 point shooter, Garrett Johnson, some open looks so he can take more than 1 shot in the half. We look like a pickup team out there. 2 assists and 7 turnovers for the half. Autry/Hutchinson a combined 0-7, with 0-5 from the 3? Also talk to Max about shot selection.

Great start to the half. Much more energy ad focus. Competing hard at both ends.

Thats what I am talking about on offense. in 2.5 minutes, already equaled assists from first half, and Johnson with 5 quick points.

Davis=Lottery pick

Davis plays like a more experienced Buchanan.

Good to see CC yanking guys when they make big mistakes. He couldn’t do that last year since there was no one on the bench to put in.

Sloppy play. Way too many turnovers.

Stretch=worst hands in D-1?

I thought we got rid of Noel Brown's stone hands down low

Comeback being undone by same thing as yesterday: inability to cut it under 5.
In the second half when we’ve had the ball down 5 or 6, we are 0-2 with 3 turnovers.

We could learn a lot from Delaware's passing.
Also,as noted before,doesn't hurt to try and get Garrett clear looks.
