So we apparently learned nothing from last year's pathetic non-con and apparently CC wanted an even worse one for 24-24. Brilliant.

This schedule has ben talked about for weeks here, was largely known for months, and was posted here last week. No surprises. It's already been discussed ad nauseum. Doubt this one will be worse.

Besides the terrible matchups, can we discuss the lack of weekend games? Not exactly making it easy to bring kids, though it seems questionable at best that they care about anyone coming given the competition to begin with

Again, didn't learn anything from last year apparently. Is CC trying to get fired?

Since both the men and women open at the Smith Center on Election Day Eve, I am going to assume that is a doubleheader event (tipoffs not announced for either game), hopefully with enough promos and sideshows/entertainment to engage the students who might otherwise be preocupied with what will happen the following day.

What was wrong with last year other than we didn’t win by enough in December?
Entering December we had dropped our KenPom from 217 to 139. In the end we did go 11-2.
Our “bad” OOC also got us off to a 3-1 start in conference play before injuries derailed everything.

Going 11-2 against an embarrassing schedule is nothing to be proud of. What matters is how we end the season.
We have to stop using injuries as an excuse for our program every year - every team faces the same issues.
If we don't want to schedule or perform at a level expected of an A-10 team, lets save some money and go play in the Patriot or AE Leagues.

5 for the women and 8 for the men I believe. Not scheduling a game on election day (or the next few days) is a great move by the athletic department I bet they didn't make consciously in terms of getting students to games

Most have other OOC games that will balance out the SOS factor. Not GW. No others are predicted to be last in conference by Blue Ribbon. Keep on working towards those coveted at-large bids GW!

For some reason this post was bounced over to this thread (closed?) from the new OOC Game thread.

Just FYI apparently the conference schedule is slated to finally be released this week. Word on the street is the delay is entirely due to TV. With more conference games to fill for the big boys, the A10 was scrambling for slots. Remains to be seen how many games the A10 gets on ESPN2, USA, and CBSSN.

Recent history would suggest that USA will have Saturday doubleheaders or tripleheaders once conference play begins, plus a single game on Sunday afternoons. ESPN2 will likely have their 8 week Friday night games which normally features the conference's strongest matchups meaning I would not expect GW to land a Friday night game. CBS Sports Network is the most difficult to predict. Not only have they not had a "regular" day and time for the A10 but they've just added 20 Big 12 games to CBSSN. They also have regularly shown Missouri Valley games, several Big East games (though NBC/Peacock could be getting these), and other conferences as well.

I believed that the OOC schedule did nothing to help us prepare for the conference. Yes, we started 3-1. but 1 of the wins was against a VCU team that had not been playing well and had a disappointing OOC record; another was against Davidson, at home, which finished the conference at 5-13, and the 3rd was against Mason, who also was off to a slow conference start. More telling was our 12 game losing streak and last place finish. Winning close games against sub 300 teams really didn't prepare us very well. It was more than just injuries.
