Is this the day that the apocalypse is upon us? Woj just completed a deal with WWE (now run by Nick Khan, formerly of CAA and someone who Woj seems to know well) which involves NIL opportunities for St. Bonaventure players as well as SBU legacy wrestling belts which are being sold to students, alumni, and fans. Aparently, SBU is not alone here as schools such as Texas, Penn State, Michigan and Florida among others have cut similar deals. I will now apologize for any negative word I ever wrote about Noel Brown and no, I do not wish to enter into a steel cage match with Mr. Brown.

Seems like we've stumbled upon a great offseason topic: which current or former GW basketball player would you least want to face off against in a wrestling match?
My firsthand experience of GW basketball is limited to the last few years so I'll say Darren Buchanan or Noel Brown

Very cool partnership. Hope GW can do some creative ones.
As for wrestling, I think Zeek Armwood would destroy. Yegor Mescheriakov and Pat Ngongba too

Back in the early Jarvis years, GW´s radio announcer moonlighted as a script writer/on-air announcer for one of the two big wresting troupes on the East Coast at the time, but not the one that would become the WWE. So the school has a history of (albeit very tenuous) involvement with pro wrestling.
Even with a good script and choreography, I´d be loathe to enter a ring with either of the Adair twins! (I am a nebbishy whimp)

Yinka had the most dominating body but I think Yegor had the right physicallity and personality to be a wrestler. I once saw a GW player wrestle. I walked by a stage rehersal on campus and the wonderful, late Kevin Hall was playing a wrestler in some play I didn't catch the name of. He looked like a massive spider when he was on all fours.

When you have a foul to give and the game on the line, Knorr was your man. (still moaning about American)

Knockout Knorr is the man. Saw him knockout a Furman player around 69 or 70. Guy was out for 10 minutes. It was a right hand that landed cleanly. We can talk about what others may have done but he DID IT. Great guy. Loved by all.

Knorr was a bit before my time so I'll just focus on the guys I've seen. Here's my All-Wrestling team with each person occupying a different category:
1) Andre the Giant Division (sheer size and strength): Yinka and Sasha come to mind but my sense is that Sasha would be the more aggressive of the two.
2) Haystacks Calhoun Division (sheer girth): He didn't do much for GW on the court, but let's see what Marcus Littles has in the ring.
3) Tony Atlas Division (sheer muscle): No way this isn't Pat Ngongba. His muscles had muscles. Zeke gets an honorable mention but Pat would be a force of nature in the ring.
4) Bruno Sammartino Division (technically proficient): If I can put him into a lighter weight class, then it's Joe McDonald. Otherwise, I'll roll the dice with Troy Webster who looked like he could double for Ronnie Lott.
5) The Iron Shiekh Division (nickname): Well, we once had Andrei Krivonos who was nicknamed The Baby Faced Assassin and if that doesn't sound like a pro wrestler's nickname, I don't know what does.
6) I'll also have to leave room for Shawnta Rogers for no other reason than the following: Do you think anyone could actually pin him?
