The league didn't even put the special tournament logo at center court this year? What a disgrace. Fire Bernadette already.

Court looks fine. Conference logo front and center, the tournament logo prominent along the keys. (Not sure why there are four stars in the tournament logo, DC´s flag has three but that would also be a reference to the Founder of Our University and former president who was a three-star general). Also, I notice the cameras are not doing long pan shots of the "crowd"; then again if more than just a few homeless people looking for someplace warm to hang show up for a Wednesday pre-lunch pillow fight between two out-of-town teams going nowhere, I would worry about humanity.

As for that pregrame interview with Archie Miller, it reminded of a "final TV interview" inmates on Death Row sometimes give. Does he already know he is headed to a farm upstate?

Is there a reception for the game Thursday?

Can’t believe URI is only a 4pt favorite over Fordham. Seems very low..is there an injury for Rhody?

URI split two games with Fordham this year.
URI had lost 4 in a row before beating Fordham to end the regular season.
Fordham had won 3 of 4 before losing their last 8 to end the regular season.
URI is 4-9 away from home this season.  Fordham is 3-12.
The schools have split the last 10 meetings with Fordham covering 6 of these.

Hope this helped.  Am sure it hasn't.

Fordham followed up its 23 point loss to GW with a 19 point loss to Rhody.   They appear to have packed it in.  I bet URI (but had to give 4.5).

Although I haven't seen it actually posted anywhere (I probably just missed it), there is a pregame reception before our game.   No charge to attend.

Doesn’t look like they’ve packed it in to me. Currently up by 9.

Re: Atlantic Ten Conference Tournament.

Fordham up 18 with 6 minutes left in the first half. Shooting 10-15 so far and have gotten to the line a whopping 17 times so far (they've made 16)!

Wow, Fordham up 20 with 5 minutes left in the first half.

Re: Atlantic Ten Conference Tournament.

Reception is at Yard House.  3:30-4:30.

URI cut the deficit to 12 by halftime.  Fordham led by as many as 22.  Hard to bet on a team who has been playing very uninspiring ball because the opponent has seemingly packed it in.  Plenty of time though for URI to turn this into a win and cover.

Re: Atlantic Ten Conference Tournament.

If you listened to the 3-Bid League podcast, I would say their serious love of URI might have been heard by Fordham.

Serious motivation, perhaps?

I nominate my response as the worst post of the year.

Re: Atlantic Ten Conference Tournament.

LSF - this is a perfect reason I stay away from betting.  I thought 4.5 was way too low and there had to be a reason.  Reason was the books wanted everyone to take URI.  Crazy

Re: Atlantic Ten Conference Tournament.

A wise adage definitely applies here:  if a point spread looks too good to be true, then it probably is.

Or as Scott Van Pelt may have said, URI -4 1/2 did not pass the smell test.

It may indeed be it for the $10 million man. I’m betting no, though, since there’d be a $4.3 million payout due to him.

Archie has managed a 5-22 record in true road games and has delivered three consecutive PIG losses in his three years at Rhody. He’s losing most of his “core” (euphemism if there ever was one), and he’ll likely lose Fuchs to the portal. So next year is likely to be another shit show, given Arch has shown no ability to coach up a group of people playing together for the first time. If anything, they’ve consistently gotten worse over the course of every season during his tenure.

Re: Atlantic Ten Conference Tournament.

My A10 Bet of the Day:  It pains me to pick against Mark Schmidt but we do have the better team getting points today.

Take the Dukes, + 2 1/2, over the Bonnies.

Re: Atlantic Ten Conference Tournament.

i am hearing some jitters expressed about having to play Fordham after their convincing win over URI.  Granted, over the years (decades) GW has shown it is capable of losing to any team in the nation on any given night, so there is always going to be some nerves, but c'mon...what team would you rather be playing in a conference game other than Fordham.     GW is -7.5 and given a 76% chance of winning.    (Does anyone else find it a bit disturbing to have a game in which GW is playing in Washington DC to be on  a neutral court?)
