They are beyond awful. MD would probably lose to the state satellite schools like UMES at this point. How is this possible?
It's a "premier" state school located in the DC burbs. It's not SW MO St. Buzz Williams is a decent coach, he's been on some tournament runs. He's not a 30 year old rookie coach the school is trying to save money on.
And they're bouncing between being down 35 and 40 points at Michigan State. I just don't understand how bad they are.
And if it wasn't for Big 18 winless Penn State losing to MD last week, MD would also still be winless in the Big 18.
I just don't get it. Oh well, eff MD.

The prev coach saw the low talent returning and went to Villanova. Buzz late and did not recuit the portal. Will have to see how he does in 2 years. Maryland needs to up their NIl game to
Compete with the Powerhouse Big 10 money

It looks like Maryland is on pace to have their worst season since the Bob Wade/early Gary Williams days from the late 1980's//early 1990's! And at least they had a legitimate excuse to be bad because of the Len Bias and Rudy Archer scandals that rocked the program.Maryland has had a lot of injuries (including their best player Pharrel Payne), but even if they had a healthy Payne, they wouldn't be that much better.
I thought Buzz Williams brought just enough talented recruits/transfers from Texas A&M and the Midwest where he used to recruit from, that they could be respectable. Maybe its a bad mix of players?

With the massive amount of transfers every year it's hard to keep up with college basketball! But Maryland being this bad is an interesting development. And Georgetown isn't that much better than Maryland is!! LOL
