Not great body language 

Let's see what the perilous start to the second half does.
Refs not helping us. Ignoring their holds, fouls on us, etc.
But we're doing it to ourselves.
We can and usually do come back. But harder if we start digging again.
So far, feels like we have better or certainly equal talent.
They have smarter players.

No big halftime lead to waste away tonight. Now we shall see what changes UNM make on defense (and in creating shots) in the 2nd. Lobos might be more talented, deeper and at home, but they are in a dogfight they were not expecting.

A few notes at the half:

THE BAD

- CASTRO - Does Castro want to be here? He has seemed disinterested at times. He has had two passes thrown his way bounce off his hands and then has just watched as the Lobo ran it for an easy score the other way.
- PASSING - After some phenomenal passing in the Utah St game leading to 18 assists, this game we have looked out of sync. You could say that has to do with the defense, but other than them mixing it up a bit on D, I have not been incredibly impressed with the Lobo defense.
- ANNOUNCERS - Are these Lobo announcers? If not, poor job by the NIT picking this team. They made a huge stink about NM only being able to play 7 tonight and GW having the huge advantage, when they’ve actually played 8 and we have only played 7 (where’s Garrett?).

THE GOOD

- OUR DEFENSE - Defense has kept us in this game. So many possessions using the whole shot clock. Have there been lapses…absolutely, but seeing some real work there on our end.
- PERSEVERANCE - New Mexico looks like the better team. And we’ve gone down 10 and still found a way to hang in there. Yes this season in many ways has been a disappointment, but there have been very few games against top opponents that I felt we didn’t have a chance to come back.

We can steal this one if Castro gets going and we don’t run out of gas.

If the announcers tell us one more time that it’s loud, I’m going on mute.

12-2 run for opposing team to start 2nd half. Sound familiar.

I will force myself to watch the entire game, wait 6 months, then renew my season tickets

Have to tip my cap to New Mexico.  They are as good as a lot of th teams in the tourney. I know it doesn’t hurt them to be at home and in altitude, but they are a pretty solid all around team and very well coached.

With wins over Santa Clara and at VCU, plus 13-7 in the mountain west, with no losses outside the top 100, they  should prob have gotten a bid over some of these SMU/NC St/UCF teams that go about .500 in conference.
