The landmark agreement is the largest corporate partnership in GW Athletics history and will see the @vandapharma logo featured on the uniforms of all 20 Revolutionaries teams.

Can I be less than enthusiatic about this? I know ads at venues and sponsorships of college teams is nothing new, but turning (paid) players into walking billboards is not the "natural evolution" I was hoping for. Instead, maybe the school could sell the nickname? Imagine "Introducing your The George Washington University Vanda Pharmaceuticals!!!!" (hey, that would be even longer than the current one! quite an accomplishment)

I am waiting for each individual player to sue to get their own cut of the payment

They're getting their share. It's called revenue sharing and that's how they're all getting paid.

Adidas logo?

It's fine to be less than enthusiastic about this. However, let's not make the mistake of being appalled or even taken aback by this. Finding new revenue sources is the accepted challenge of practically every sport these days, from high school/AAU on up.

Love the PR spin on this - "largest corporate sponsorship in GW Athletics history".
It's the only corporate sponsorship in GW Athletics history!
Can't imagine GW will be publishing the $ any time soon.

Joel Joseph its not even close to the first corporate sponsorship. It's the first jersey patch partner. You obviously don't pay attention at games. You definitely find a way to be negative about everything

Agree. If you go to a game you see many many corporate sponsorships. Who could forget Johnsville being the Official Brat of GW Basketball!?
