Let the debate begin:
10) 11/12/25 GW 107 AU 67
This makes the list not only due to the local rivalry but also because GW finally achieved the "blowout win" result that its fans had been waiting a long time to see. AU has played GW incredibly tough this century despite what always appears to be a blatant discrepancy in talent. This of course includes a devastating overtime loss to the Eagles just a season ago.
9) 3/13/25 GW 88 Fordham 81
This took place in the A10 Tournament at Capital One and far more resembled an escape than a victory. Permission granted to forever refer to this as The Trey Autry Game.
8) 2/823 GW 107 Richmond 105 (Double overtime)
This was the highlight of C's 4-0 overtime game record during his rookie season. This was reminiscent of a triple overtime loss to Fordham only with a better result. In both games, each team seemed to be scoring at will with a huge number of dizzying shots. Just a regular old conference game but about as entertaining as it gets.
7) 2/13/26 GW 72 George Mason 53
The Revolutionary Rivalry had gone from Mason being our little brother to Mason holding their own against us to "holy shit, Tony Skinn has our number." Granted we caught the Patriots at an ideal time (as their season was spiraling) but we got exactly what we needed, a convincing, definitive victory before an energetic Friday night crowd.
6) 11/30/22 GW 79 South Carolina 55
This would have received more points had the Gamecocks and #1 ranked high school player GG Jackson lived up to their own expectations. A nationally televised primetime game (OK, CBS Sports Network, but still) resulted in a complete rout by GW. As for future momentum, not so much. GW followed-up that stellar win with consecutive losses to Radford and AU (OUCH!).
5) 12/31/22 GW 97 Loyola, IL 87
Happy New Year to CC with his first-ever A10 conference win. Some will think I am overrating this one but here's why I don't believe I am. While the Ramblers were pretty bad, as in last place bad, during their inaugural season in the A10, the fact is that nobody could have or did project just how bad they would be. GW thought they returned home from Chicago having beaten a contending team in the A10. That needs to count for something.
4) 11/8/25 GW 99 South Florida 95
We knew going in that this matchup at Mohegan Sun would be difficult but it turned out to be a bit of a bloodbath. The Bulls would go on to reach the NCAA's so this was a very high quality win on a neutral court. This win was undoubtedly instrumental in enabling GW to receive an NIT berth, where it would play...
3) 3/18/26 GW 79 Utah Valley 78
This was an NIT win. In a true road game. Against a team that previously had a long home winning streak. If this same circumstance had taken place at NC State or Syracuse or Seton Hall, we'd all be pretty damn proud of the accomplishment. Just because they're not Utah or Utah State or BYU does not make Utah Valley a pushover. Not by a long shot.
2) 1/4/25 GW 82 Dayton 62
If you've been paying attention, you would know three things about the GW-Dayton series: a) we hardly ever win there (short of a Carl Elliott heave), b) they lose to us a lot in DC (buzzer beating game winners by TJ Thompson, Wynton Witherspoon, Zeke Armwood and Joe McDonald) and c) they are the opponent where Hobbs "preferred to play 6 men at a time" (was caught not once but twice). On this day, Jun had to sit with an injury. About as unforeseen a result as imaginable.
1) 1/6/24 GW 84 VCU 82
At VCU. Enough said!
