Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

A complete mismatch for us. Golden is dominating in the paint. Their guards have very active hands and close out very well. Both have proven to be very troublesome for our guards. Still, our offense has not shown up today and our shot selection has been horrendous. Hopefully it's just tired legs.

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

And Jack airballs it. 29% shooting. Ugh! Down 16

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

Note to self: We are a young team and its hard to win on the road in the A-10, especially as a young team.

With that said, we are displaying our worst tendencies as a team.  Careless ball-handling and bad shooting.

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

39-22 1/2 might as well go home with that bad performance. Too tired whatever. If we can't hit the 3 we're toast.

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

Does the school put out a media guide? Why can't I find this on their website?

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

Be good to have some one guy, anyway, under the boards when we jock up a 3. Or is it like opposing FTs where we pull everyone to get back on defense.
Our lack of half court offense is being exploited by Richmond D. We just pass it around further away and
then someone makes an ill-advised drive or shoots a bad percentage 3. Nice when they go in, but they're not so far. Not a team game. Don't think we can blame tiredness for everything. Game was almost 72 hours ago and they are young.
Hoping for a second half comeback. Otherwise, forfeit or mercy rule would put us out of our misery.

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

Richmond has much to do with our poor play. They are quicker and physically stronger.  So far, no answers

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

A game like this is a reminder of how far we still need to go before we are competitive

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

Man, you guys are a tough crowd.

We are playing without our highest usage player (our PG) and look tired.  And Richmond just played Dayton and VCU so came in super focused on defense. It’s just a perfect storm.

Hopefully we find a way to get in the game mentally in the second because we looked mentally spent in the first.

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

Turnovers are being stressed tonight. 12 turnovers and 3 assists. Nelson has 4 turnovers and 0 assists. Battle has 3 TO's. Jack 1-6 from 3. Many TO's are the same ones we saw early in season. Something the should have gotten out of their system by now. Protect he dam ball and stop being a hot dog. Won't work against a good team. Ugh!

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

RIchmond is working the pick and roll with Golden to perfection. They've also executed some incredibly accurate passes.

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

Maceo Jack with a HUGE dunk.

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

That play where Jameer was fouled just as he passed to Jamison, who rippled the cords for a 3 that didn't count, sums up the evening so far.
Maceo sky jam was nice. Maybe that will somehow spur us to be more competitive.

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

Nelson may have double digit turnovers before this game is over. Sloppy

52-33  And Nelson misses a dunk

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

Was wrong. Jameer missed dunk and follow was more emblematic of this painful evening.
The Washington Generals kept their games closer.

Re: GW vs Richmond Game Thread

JNJ just missed a wide open breakaway dunk. No one within 15 feet of him. Then, on a rebound following it, no one rushes the ball. I understand that legs are tired, but not going for offensive rebounds that they can clearly get is discouraging .
