Here is the final comparison of last year's conference stats to this year's.
On the plus side, we were better in every category except for Pace, Total Rebounding, Offensive Rebounding, and Turnovers.
On the down side, the improvements between last year and this year were fairly small.
On the conference level we were second worst in points scored and third worst in points against. We were second worst in the conference in net rating (estimate of point differential per 100 possessions) and for a team whose offense relied on 3 point shooting, we were ninth out of 14 teams in 3 pt %.

The context of these stats thing is how much better the A10 is this year than last year.
Not only do is Dayton #3 in the NET rankings, but we have three teams in the top 50, 5 in the top 65, 6 in the top 75 and half the league is too 100 (and we beat one on the road, something we haven’t done since the NIT championship season).
Last year the A10 had only one team in the top 65 and 3 in the top 100 - and only 6 teams were even top 150.
Last year was probably the weakest A10 this year and this year it was strong.
My point is that the stats are misleading if you don’t consider then it jump in competition. Plus, if you take out the games when armel was hurt (and when Harris was hurt) we would look even better.

Last year The A10 was the youngest conference in the Nation.
Much tougher league this year year indeed.
