You know them when you see them. They played quite a bit as freshmen. They play well against GW. You can not possibly believe they are still in college, playing college basketball. You are sick of them and want them gone. You already know that Sincere Carry will be on next year's team since he is, unbelievably, only a junior.
Narrowing this list was not easy. I only wanted to select one name per team which meant choosing to be Jacob Gilyard and Grant Golden. (Francis was a transfer and Nick Sherrod missed practically all of 2018-19 so it was easy to exclude these guys). Golden got the nod because of his physical appearance, his play of course, and the fact that he was once oh so close to becoming a Colonial. My five are:
Grant Golden
Fatts Russell
Kellan Grady
Carl Pierre
Hasahn French
Fatts was not an immediate star but was still a thorn in the side as a freshman. Now, he is tremendous. It feels like Grady arrived as soon as Steph departed which, while not true, makes it feel like he's been at davidson for a decade. Mr. French has been an annoying, immovable object from his first game at SLU. Pierre is the 5th player only because he has terrorized plenty of opponents far worse than us. Others to consider: Gilyard should probably get the nod over him, Michael Hughes of Duquesne has made his mark against us but he did start out at Akron so this will be just his third year playing for the Dukes, and Ryan Mikesell is starting to look like he played WITH Anthony Grant at Dayton.
