Re: GW New Moniker Discussion

And to add to this, there wasn't much enthusiasm to begin, so we're risking wiping it out entirely.
They seem to be singing the alma mater post-game, which most here would probably have no idea how it goes--as it wasn't a thing before. But have no respect in wiping out a 100-year-old tradition, just because it
sounds like something that sounds like it could be offensive to delicate sensibilities.
Some of the mediocre to incredibly off-putting suggestions are on the track to destroy what little loyalty is
left. And beyond a small core of students, let's face it, it's the 50 or so of us, in terms of basketball.
A small group of students, say half of whom will transfer and won't even graduate from GW, have hijacked this issue, aided by a handful of activist professors whom anyone of any normal left, center or right persuasion, can see are a bit off in general.
Meanwhile, TC's point about GW alumni is spot on.

Re: GW New Moniker Discussion

The University is on social media asking alums to chime in. The responses are, um, to say it nicely, probably not what the Administration would like to hear. (Hint: the word "stupid" is mentioned more often than any of the finalist options are)

Did I miss anything at the game?  Was unable to attend but heard that a decision would be made or announced?

I don't believe anything was announced. Just pointless PR to make fans and alums feel like they've been listened to in this whole charade.
