Now I understand Herve.
Board Users, I am generally mild-mannered, I don't drink alcohol, and gosh darn it people generally like me.
And yet, I have become angry at this board, might start drinking again, and I don't like the person I have to be in running this board. No wonder Herve gave up on the old board.
So, to the 95% of you who this doesn't apply to, please enjoy the board, share your thoughts, and go about your daily business.
I have been asked by at least 8 board members to banish other members since I somewhat regretfully created this board (not really...I love GW Hoops, but you get the point).. The truth is that I hate the idea of kicking people off, and I just don't understand why we all just can't get along. Is that so hard?
So, I believe I have now found a way to ban board members temporarily. I don't care if you were the best man at my wedding; if you insult, attack, or otherwise cause emotional distress to another board user, I will ban you. For a day, a week, a month, or until I start feeling warm fuzzies for you, whatever.
What does that accomplish? Not much. And that's the problem. I have no way of stopping a banned user from creating a new user name and posting to their heart's content. That's why I haven't done anything like this before.
I'm a good guy, trying to make a living as an events professional during a pandemic, and this board isn't worth the hassle. Please, stop the attacks. Period.

I don´t worry about BGF, he knows where it´s at. And if you don´t get that statement, then keep your comments on this board limited to GW hoops and the like and take your crude personal insults to a part of the Internet where they are welcome (like pretty much any other site´s public comments section).,,

What's happening Barry is that by allowing one guy to sign up 20 names to "drive off" GW Coaches and ADs and staff in a phony campaign, and also attack other posters posing as 20 names is going to continue until that man dies quite frankly, OR... you know have a board with 1 man 1 name.
We've all seen this play out and by we all I mean like the 7 8 9 10 people who actually post somewhat regularly.
That's the issue, period. A board with 9 guys and 10 occassional posters using 1 name say, their real name. The idea that there are 11 new names from just 2 years ago, all playing out the same playbook, when does it end? IF JC struggles "they" posing as 11 different people all chiming in unison will start a fire JC campaign, attack anyone retaining optimism, still blather on about Nero and Jack and Mojo its a huge cannard of BS
So, as the Board Admin you can decide if you want to let that all play out YET again or do something different.
there are like 8 9 maybe 10 guys, reading the same drivel under 11 names from 1 person, for like the 25th year, in a row. The names all change with each new Coach, the same BS make believe world rolls out
Harmless, unless it ruins the latest incarnation board, which it will if you allow it. Do you want to read "11 names" all clamoring for a fire JC campaign when the team is 4-5? is that the Board you want to run
Or you know, 1 man, 1 name ... and all that BS goes away
Why is exactly is the board 75% "names" that did not exist just 18 months ago? 11 or so people all decided at once to change their board name? but retain all the same "I have known JC for a decade I have insider information I Am a know nothing know it all!
Come on man. Lets be real, why go through the motions of creating a new board only to have the same thing play out over and over again? I get Herve too, he wisely chose to just walk away. OR you know, DO something to prevent the same non-sense
Mailvan and BlueSeats? The MV and Bo Knows? yeah, that's still going on only with yet another series of fake personas and names... gee where did all those ML confidant names know it all go? just vanished replaced by 11 new names claiming insider info today, fire XYZ tomorrow? What's the point of enabiling all of that BGF??

Dude, the point is that you don't always know that you're right. You think that you are. I know who many of the users are that you mention as multi-users, and I know that at least some of your assumptions are wrong.
Another point is that if someone is multi-using and having a conversation with themselves, and not creating animosity with their other self, so the F what? If nothing else, it is good entertainment. When it becomes a problem for the board, I'll take action.
Dude, I cannot say this strongly enough: Please stop worrying about what happened on the old board happening again on here. It is the very argument that you are making that is creating the negative tone you so abhor (as I do).
I meant what I said about banning people temporarily. That includes you, it includes lifelong friends I have on this board, and it would include my mother if she knew how to use a computer and cared about basketball.
So, again, please stop worrying about the past repeating itself and make the new GW Hoops a better place, even if you think you're the victim here.
I'm going to leave your post that this is responding to, in place. Let it go, let it die, and take a few minutes to realize that in the middle of a pandemic, we have a game next week. That's kind of f*cking cool, even if I'm a skeptic about the wisdom of it.
