This is two years in a row where we weren't ready to start the season. Biggest issue on the team right now is a lack of energy. Are we sure Jeb Bush isn't coaching this team?

Off shooting night. Defense needs to be changed immediately. Get out of this stupid zone that clearly doesn't work. I don't care what the excuse is, nothing could be worse than this zone. Anyone dunking the ball outside of JNJ should be benched. Offensive game plan needs to be more than bring the ball up the court, ball screen, pass once or shoot. Just awful stuff. Coaching staff should be ashamed of how we've started the year.

Coach is trying to force the team to play a defense that they are not accustomed to playing and are not comfortable with. The loss would have been double digits if Hampton didn't miss so many wide open 3s. Stop being so stubborn, coach. If your plan A defense doesn't work, be prepared to use plan B, at least for stretches. When you stay in a zone too long, the other team gets comfortable in it, can find the seams and can pick it apart. If we give up 80 against Hampton, what is South Carolina going to do to us?

This is tough to watch. Zone sucked all night. I actually thought we played man for one possession late in game. The transfer from Sienna is a 1 trick pony. He does nothing right now and can’t buy a bucket. Parr looks soft and not able to do much when the other team attacks him in waves. Nice foul shots. To me the energy level was best shown when Hampton stole the ball and missed 2 lay ups and no one from GW hustled back. I said it last game but when one d is not working change into another. Defense wins games. We don’t have a clue how to stop anybody. I’m glad I’m not seeing these games live.

Did anyone notice a real screen,a beautiful one by Hampton late second half, that freed a long 3? Kind of summed up the difference in teams,despite our players better pedigree, presumably athleticism and home court.

Not much point in a competent basketball team compiling much of a scouting book on GW. Not sure even middling teams like UMassholes will be too concerned about gameplanning for GW this season.
