Big news for Virginia bettors!!!
As of January 21st, sports betting s legal n Virginia. FanDuel launched its site on that date. The only caveat is that you cannot bet on a Virginia college team , so those with dreams of riding George Mason to an early retirement without leaving your couch will need to continue to use an overseas site.

For anyone in DC, my advice is to NEVER bet on sports in DC until the District opens the sports betting business up to completion (like draft kings or fanduel sports book). The City Council gave a sweetheart deal to the dc lottery to run sports betting through a foreign subcontractor, and the deal is that the VIG is astronomically high.
To bet in DC, you’d have to hit nearly 60% to make even a tiny profit. It’s a disgraceful set up.
