Fall Sports 2021

Teams start playing THIS MONTH!!!! (ok, if the f-ing virus allows). Looks like teams will resume travelling outside of the region for non-conference games.

Volleyball has trips to Louisville and Morgantown with the first home game on Aug 27!

Men´s football/soccer has a trip to William-Salem in the middle of conference play, as well as a trip to "historic" Williamsburg and a sojourn to the upper West Side with the home opener Aug 26...

Men´s water polo has a trip to California for three games as well as dates with traditional powers Cal and Princeton and back-to-back games with GW on the Charles. The venue for home games is "TBA", so the Smith Center pool is gone/under renovation perhaps?

Women´s football/soccer is sticking close to home, but has scheduled ambitiously with back-to-back road games against College Park CC and UVa.

Masks will be required at the Smith Center but so far it appears fans will be allowed to attend matches in-person. Of course, all of this is subject to change and really unless you are fully vaccinated, wearing a mask and keeping your distance you should not be heading out in any case.

Re: Fall Sports 2021

Well, the fall sports have not racked up too many W´s this year.
Men´s football/soccer went 5-10-2 although the highlight came in the season-ending win over St Bona when senior Oscar Haynes Brown closed out his collegiate career with four goals including the OT winner to be named National Player of the Week.
Women´s football/soccer was 3-12-3 but ended the season with two wins and a draw.
Volleyball is 2-23 and has been swept in each of its last six matches heading in to this weekend´s final two matches (both at the Smith Center) and next week´s A10 tournament.
After a deep run in last year´s National Tournament, water polo stands at 8-13 with two games left in the regular season. Six of the team´s losses have come to ranked opponents played away from the Smith Center pool.
