Has anyone checked out the Hatchet's annual basketball edition? I'm wondering about everyone's thoughts. I thought the previews and columns were pretty insightful for a student paper, with a mix of lighthearted stories and profiles as well.

Really nice job by The Hatchet. To learn or be reminded how special a person Jun is, I'd urge you to read the article about him. Also nice to learn about the long-term friendship between Trey Autry and Gerald Drumgoole, as well as the coaches and connections involved in bringing in the team's four transfers. It wasn't that long ago when I might have squirmed over Gerald being at his fourth school or Trey Moss now playing for his third. Those days are over as transferring is rapidly becoming the norm and not the exception.
Finally, I really enjoyed the article about George, GW's mascot. He is beginning his 4th and final season as the mascot while keeping his identity unknown for the most part. Of note, he'll never mess with little children but will give students who appear to be afraid of him a hard time. And sad but true, he applied for the job as a freshman and upon arrival, was asked to work a women's/men's doubleheader that night. Not even a tryout or even some interest from any other students? Whoever you are George, the program is lucky to have found you.
