Not too worried about the outcome of the game. Max, Benny and Garrett did not practice all week. Not saying we would have won but that explains a lot.

What is their current status.  Is everone healthy for Navy?

USC was hot from 3. But it was nice for USC playing us home and home. Still pissed at North Carolina State for their actions in 2005. We moved a gameday for them (Sat to Friday) for their football team. Then during the game they teed up Hobbs. They never said thank you or give us a return game.

Yes, and this was despite the fact that we were repeatedly told by the poster formerly known as Blue Seats that Kvancz had negotiated a return game at Smith Center against NC State in exchange for being so accommodating in moving up our game by a day so their fans could attend their Bowl game the next day.  This of course never happened.

I was actually thinking about this game on Friday night.  Not at all comparing this year's team to 2005-06, but each had such incredibly soft OOC schedules with one challenging game in the Carolinas. (Of course, we also beat Maryland in 05-06.)

Believe Max and Garrett will be good for Navy. Not sure on Benny.

We were soundly beaten in S.C. for several reasons. Most of all, 18 3 pointers, a number of which came
because they just couldn't miss (51% from 3) and also because we allowed them to be open. In one case, or two, with enough time to write and send a text, before shooting. Nor did or does our Charmin soft schedule, even with secret scrimmages, do us any favors. And we are very thin with post talent, hard to obtain these days.
Having said that, CC appears to have done a great job recruiting players who can develop and stick around in transfers, Garrett and Darren, Benny who shows some flashes and plays inside, and Stretch on the defensive end. Max, a CC Rookie of the Year recruit, and  All-Conference James may have off games, but Max still rebounds and James can actually will us back in games sometimes.
The best takeaway from the S.C. game looks like a real positive. Based on that game against an SEC opponent and what we have seen in earlier games, our freshmen recruits can hang in prime time. Both Trey and Jacoi were indeed bright spots in a pretty dismal loss.
That, if it pans out in the A-10 season now and in future years, really takes some of the sting out of the game.

Wow. Was this game a harbinger of things to come or what? At the time, I thought it was an ominous warning, with hindsight it seems to have been a full-blown emergency alert.
