Pro tip: do not bother searching “George Washington” on twitter right now with hopes you’ll find the commit tweet. Not gonna find anything basketball related unfortunately.

Welcome Gerald Drumgoole!

He hir 75 threes last year and 74 the year before. (For reference, Bishop made 71 last year).

A lineup of Hutch, Drumgoole, Garrett Johnson, DBJ, and Sean Hansen would really surround Darren in the paint with a ton of outside shooting to stretch the floor for Darren to operate inside.

Drumgoole
--He made 76 threes on the year most on the Blue Hens
---Third in rebounding and second in assists.
-- Started 19 of 33 games.
-- Finished with 10+ pts in 16/20 CAA games
-- Shot only 64 percent from FT line
-- 6th on team in steals
-- Third highest turnovers

Darn. I was hoping for just 1 transfer from a P-6 school this off season.

 Providence doesn't count?

I forgot about Rafael. Even though he had limited minutes at Providence, his size will help.

Wouldn't mind a good-sized or taller, very springy, jumping jack type forward.
No doubt easier said than done.
Or Yegor/Mike Hall-sized type.
Someone who can hit the boards.
If we don't rebound, we will wind up missing Max more than we might think.

Drumgoole also played 2 years at Pitt.

Mixed reaction.  Albany City Rocks guy which we've had some success with.  Good size, hopefully some leadership.  Could play the Max rebounding role if he puts his mind to it.

Not sure how his natural talent will compare with that of Trey and Ty (or even Christian who we really haven't seen) but I'd hate to see their development slowed as a result.  Seems to be more of a scorer than a natural shooter, a statement I would love to be wrong about.  And of course, there's the pattern of putting up bigger numbers against lesser teams, for the most part.  That normally does not bode well for someone looking to play up.

I am perhaps being naive but I was very comfortable heading into the season with Jacoi, Trey, Ty and Christian as our primary backcourt players.  We shall see.

This is a total hunch but I don’t see him as a primary back court player and more of a direct replacement for Max at the 3 (when Max was coming off the bench). Hopefully with all his experience in CBB we’ll see a player who will be a bit more mindful with the ball and take better shots.

Certainly more of a "hunch" I would think.   Max is listed at 6'5", 215 lbs.  Gerald is 6'5", 205 lbs. Last season, Max averaged 12.4 ppg on 42.7% overall and 35.8% from the 3 while Gerald averaged 13.9 ppg on 43.3% shooting and 37.3% from the 3.  Max averaged 6.6 rpg whild Gerald averaged 3.8 rpg.   Max 1.2 apg whild Gerald was 2.4 apg.   I would say that these players look pretty similar to each other, at least statistically, with Max having a rebounding edge and Gerald slightly better in all other offensive categories.   Defense I have no way of knowing, but at least based on these offensive numbers, it would seem that Gerald would be able to slide into the Max role on the team.  Who knows...maybe his teammated would even like him, which I am not sure was always the case with Max based upon what I have heard.
