Jamison Battle, was named the A-10 MBB Rookie of the Week after an impressive three games at the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase.

He's averaging 11.1 pts 5.3 boards and shooting 46% from 3.

As a Freshman for GW Battle has a gaudy 64.3% eFG

Wouldnt be shocked if we have an all a-10 freshman on the team by the end of the season. Certainly can't complain that the freshman arent getting enough playing time.

I could see an All Freshman team for Jamison Battle too.

He's going to get a lot of run this year and he's going to make a ton of 3s the stroke is so pure, the release high and quick. Boards appear to be trending up, he has good hands, and for a Freshman, solid bulk.

One of the real bright spots of the early part of the season.

18 points and 8 boards today, 6 more made 3s.

His 3 stroke is so pure, mechanics so clean. Doing a nice job on the glass.

Certainly a candidate for All A10 Rookie team. Here was last year's: Obi Tobbin was A10 Rookie of the year:

Shawnta wasn’t eligible until late December or he would hold it.

But easy to forget how many TJ hit. Very consistent shooter. I still remember hearing that Hobbs thought he inherited a bad recruit, then grew to realize how good TJ was.

If battle stays 4, agree that it’s in play, especially with JC’s system. I could see that record falling over the next decade for sure, whether by battle or someone else. 2 treys a game for 4 years is all it takes to blow way past it.

Sitting in DC Court of Appeals with some time to kill before my case is called, and what better way is there to kill time than to visit the board and talk GW hoops. Battle has come to GW as a skilled 3 point shooter...that is quite obvious. Let us see how the current coaching staff can develop his game. Will his offense be expanded beyond just standing behind the 3 point line and waiting for a pass? Will he be able to get his shot off against stiffer competition? Will he develop a mid range game? Can he dribble, or take the ball inside? To be able to beat a defender off the dribble really opens up a players game. Can he defend both on and off the ball. Can he be a rebounding force. (He had 18 in last 2 games). This is where the player development aspect of coaching becomes crucial. So let’s celebrate the arrival of a skilled 3 point shooter, but time will tell if he can become an all conference quality player .

I'm Ok with Jameson being a designated three point option. He has good size and has already displayed an ability to get his shot off. I love the fact that he shoots confidently. A player who comes to mind is Pat Carroll from St. Joe' s who played with Jameer Sr. and was a key contributor primarily due to his ability to sink 3's. As you suggest, Jameson is already a willing rebounder on the defensive end. Hard to assess his defense right now but like anyone else, I hope it will improve as he gains experience. I believe he will continue to get his shot off against better competition largely due to the way we play. We will continue to push the ball when we can and Jameson will likely be taking many 3's early in a possession, before the defense has a chance to get organized. Many of us watched as Nemanja Mikic attempted to be a more versatile player and in the end, that's not who he was. Jameson should capitalize on what he does best, his outside shooting.

Should be fun next season with Seymore and Battle -- and hopefully Maceo & Brelsford -- raining threes. Driving lanes will be wide open for JNJ and Harris.

In eight games, he has almost half the 3pt makes (28) that Maceo had (64) in 33 games last season. Cavanaugh (Sr, 67), Creek (Sr, 80) and Mikic (Fr, 75) are only GW players to best 60 in the last decade. Battle projects to 112 makes in the full season, though I'm sure he'll cool off. I'd be ecstatic if he tops Creek.
