GW Hoops / Slim to Portsmouth

Rafael Castro will be one of 64 players competing at this week's Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. This even has historically been a showcase for likely NBA 2nd round draft picks and undrafted free agents. He and Robbie Avila will be the lone A10 participants.

Slim will first take the court at 6:00 on Wednesday evening. If his team loses, his next game will be on Thursday at 3:30. Otherwise, he will next play this Friday evening at 6:00.

All games are expected to be available to stream.

Rafael's team lost a close one last night, 78-75. (Are we sure CC wasn't coaching another close loss? Kidding of course.)

Slim's shot 4-6 from the floor, 2-2 at the line, for 10 points in 19 minutes. Two rebounds, 1 turnover, zero steals, blocks or assists.

His team is playing again right now. Up 15 in the 3rd quarter.

Slim's team just gave up a 16-1 run in the 4th quarter. Maybe CC really is coaching this team.

Slim's team hangs on to win by 4, though Rafael was not on the floor down the stretch. He also was not one of the five players on his team who reached double figures. That said, he looked impactful from what little I was able to see.

Thought he looked good.
