Solid win over a Duquesne team that was playing only it's 10th game.  Loder has a very nice game finally hitting her 3s.  (4-4).   Good defense in the second half.

Nice to have some offense (9-16 from beyond the arc) to go along with great defense, especially in the second half. Dukes had only 3 FGs in the entire second half. With Taiwo back in the rotation, the team is more athletic, and with Brown and Blethen who are both good defensive players getting some meaningful minutes, the team defense was stout, to say the least. Their minutes came at the expense of Gingras and Nikitinaite, but overall, this is the best the team has looked in a while.

Of note- Zambrotta was suited up and didn't get in the game (maybe out of caution due to some minor injury?), and Perea did not suit up (but moved around quite well).

The team shot 56% (9-16) from three point range, which means one of three things:
a) COVID cures poor shooting
b) the correct blood sacrifice was made to the right god
c) even a broken clock is accurate twice a day

Want a complaint? How in the (bleep) does a home team winning by so much only get 6 fta´s to the opponent´s 14? Seems that decades later Linda Bruno´s ghost still haunts A10 officiating...

To answer GWAA's question, only one team was plying tough defense (GW). The Colonials were playing good straight up Man and in their zone, they were doing a good job of doubling. Of note, our team was jumping obvious passes when we got a Duke caught in a double team. The Dukes were offering our women open looks from 3.,

We were sending extra people to the offensive glass. I liked that!!! We also were often happy to pull the ball out to restart the offense after an offensive board.
The Second half saw us perform at a higher level. The team made fewer bad entrance passes. In the 1st half, We forced passes in that were out side the frame of the receiver. In the Second half, our players made much harder cuts through the paint forcing defensive errors and also produced some points off backdoor cuts.
