Women are ahead 42-18 with under 4 min remaining in the 3rd.   An absolutely pathetic offensive effort by GMU.

Not that GW's offense is anything to write home about.  Score is 42-22 after 3.

win 68-39.  4th win in a row - don't get too excited: GW is now 8-12 overall and 5-9 in conference.

A nice four-game winning streak the women have going, but it comes against teams that are a combined 22-55. Mason is now 3-18 and winless in the A10. Up next is a non-conference game against conference opponent Fordham (I know, but it is the era of COVID so just go with it).
As much a we have malligned the women´s three point shooting this season, the last few games have seen some decent outside shooting from behind the arc, possibly a refelction of the opponents´ woes, partially a result of choosing better times to take threes and partially the result of whatever live sacrifice was made to lift the hex.

George Mason is not a good defensive or offensive team, so it’s hard to assess the team's progress. On the bright side, this was an important win, allowing us to play George Mason (again) in the opening round of the A10 tourney. The team has improved and we are playing our most consistent ball of the season. With the exception of Dayton, we have been competitive against top tier A10 teams we’ve played this year. (GW didn't get a chance to play St. Louis, URI, or UMass)

Pluses-
Nikitinaite has stepped up her game. She shot 3's with a ton of confidence this game.
The defense was again really good, forcing 24 TOs, holding GM without a point for over 10 minutes during one stretch.
Whitney had another great all around game.

Minuses-
Too many missed open looks and layups. The score could have been much worse.
Rushing too many shots when in traffic, and need to better recognize those situations and avoid taking bad shots that are momentum killers. .

On Thursday, GW plays Fordham in a game that doesn't count in the A10 standings, but at least this game will be a better gauge of how far this has actually progressed.
