George Washington picks up a big commitment in 6’11” Noel Brown. Good mobility with a soft touch. With development he gives GW a unique big that has true high major size and strength. Jamion Christian now has 3 DMV commitments in 2020. @atlantic10

Jamion Christian and the George Washington staff continue to recruit their DMV home turf well with their 3rd 2020 recruit, big man Noel Brown (Flint Hill School-VA). Brown is thick and long with a chance to impact the A-10 as a shotblocker, rebounder, and inside scorer @GW_MBB

Noel’s commitment post on Insta

Thread from URI board

Interview from above thread

Also, looks like he was originally a Mojo recruit + we have also offered Josiah Freeman from the same AAU team (WAWG).

If the coaching staff can hang onto this guy that’ll be amazing. Looks legit.

Maybe this is just a case of hardly anyone fishing because the fish aren't biting but this is big news.  This announcement is three days old and practically nobody has commented?  Kind of weird.

Not only did URI and SBU extend offers but VCU was also reported to be very interested.  Noel looks to be a late bloomer (did not start playing competitively until he was 16), went through a growth spurt, and now appears to be a 6' 11" athletic center.  Was it Joe Katuka who was more of a competitive soccer player in Nigeria and truly learned how to play at Montverde?  If so, there are similar parallels here with what is hopefully a greater upside.

Always excited at the prospect of a 6'11'' player joining our roster. BUT whenever I hear words like 'upside' I can't help remember our other big men with tremendous upside - Marfo, Sodom, Littles. Not trying to debate why any of them transferred... point being it's hard to tell how polished a big man is going to be coming in and if they will stick around to develop. Highlights looked pretty raw - hope he's dunking from the free throw line in no time.

Looks like Brown signed as well from this GW tweet.  All three 2020 recruits now signed.

Anybody gone to see this guy yet? Curious about how quickly he would be able to contribute.

Correct; Marfo and Littles were STIFFS, no agility, and couldn't play to their power for GW. Now I see Marfo with these stats for Quinnipiac >>>
[list=none]
[*]PTS7.0
[*]REB13.0
[*]AST1.0
[*]FG%47.4
How can it be ?

Very good news; Noel should be a great fit for our system and he can help stop teams from attacking the rim.
