Nice article on JJ and Natasha Cloud (who plays for the Mystics) on the A10 website.

JJ had 32 points (13-24 FG, 3-7 3-pt, 3-4 FT) and 18 rebounds in 33 minutes for the Sun in a 99-87 victory over the Mystics in Game 2 today. Baller!

What a monster game, in the sport's biggest stage.
Jonquel continues to develop into a dominant player.

JJ in the WNBA Championship.
With WNBA title she'd certainly be in the mix for Finals MVP.

Game high 18 points Game high 13 boards for Jonquel to power the Sun to a Game 4 win 90-86
Game 5 winner take all for WNBA Title.  Jonquel remains well in line for WNBA Finals MVP

I didn't realize that Jonquel Jones had become an elite player until glancing at this thread and watching some of the WNBA Finals. J.Jones will definitely be named Finals MVP if Connecticut wins Game 5 tonight in D.C. It should give GW somewhat of a boost in recruiting and PR if an alum wins the WNBA Finals MVP.

I don't believe Jonquel Jones played for the current GW coach, but does anyone know if Jonquel still has contact with the current GW coaches and players? Maryland coach Brenda Frese does a good job of promoting her former players who are now playing/starring in the WNBA, I'd expect GW would do the same with J.Jones since she has become an elite WNBA player.

What a great season,  I don't watch as much Women's Hoops as some here, but  I've never seen a player with a ceiling as high as GW's JJ.
Just an incredible talent of a player.

"MVP-caliber level, pouring in 25 points and nine rebounds in the winner-take-all affair while going toe-to-toe with league MVP Elena Delle Donne.

The 6-foot-6 Bahamas native would have had a significant claim to be named Finals MVP after averaging 19.2 points per game on 56 percent shooting, in addition to 11.0 rebounds per game along with a block per contest.

Jones was at her best in Connecticut's two wins in the best-of-five series, nearly single-handedly winning Game 2 to even the series with an eye-popping line of 32 points and 18 rebounds. She helped the Sun stave off elimination in Game 4 with another double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Prior to her breakout playoff performance, Jones had one of the best regular seasons in the league, leading the WNBA in rebounds (9.7) and blocks per game (2.0) while ranking 12th in points per game (14.6).

Jones' career season featured her second WNBA All-Star start and also her second career All-WNBA Second Team honor. Additionally, she garnered All-Defensive First Team accolades for the first time.

The campaign accentuated Jones' ascension as a superstar in the league since becoming GW's first-ever first round draft pick (6th overall) in 2016."
