Hard to find stats hard stats besides google > alba berlin

17min 6reb 1as 11pts - (10/4)
6min 0reb 0as 3pts - (10/6)

Kinda sucks that he is in a limited role. Sounds like there is some culture shock with the new coach and system. He's a smart guy and im sure will figure it out as the season goes on and go on to play a bigger role.

Re: Tyler Cavanaugh

I saw this today on Facebook. Great article on Tyler Cavanaugh. I hope he has a larger role after a limited role in Germany last season.

Re: Tyler Cavanaugh

Sorry if this has been posted before (didn't come up in a search). But our Tyler Cavanaugh is playing for the USA World Cup Qualifying Team in Las Vegas.
It was on the Men's Basketball Twitter that he made the team about two weeks ago. But if it was posted, I missed
it.
The Syracuse paper is still covering Tyler and wrote something about it.
J-D grad Tyler Cavanaugh will represent USA in World Cup basketball qualifying: ‘It’s something you dream about’ - syracuse.com
It looks like they have a game tonight at 9 p.m. and another game in Las Vegas after that. It's on what looks
like an authorized FIBA website, something like courtside 1891. It looks like you have to establish an account, but qualifiers in Vegas are allegedly free. Go on the website at your own peril, although some of us may know something about it.
Familiar teammates include Langston Galloway, formerly of LaSalle and who played in the NBA sporadically last
year and more before that. And Mac McClung who wisely left an evil nearby college team (I had heard from an oddly random connection that he was unhappy with his teammates personal behavior, but also probably the general dysfunction and overall bad vibes from that place).
After this small qualifying round, other games will be when Tyler is playing in Europe on the second year of a two-year deal, so we may not see him. As Syracuse newspaper said, he had to get permission from his team in Lithuania to do this. Wonder what his salary is there? Anyone know?
Guessing Tyler wants to get back in the NBA and this is a way for exposure, which Tyler said.
And most of all, Tyler being the great American, first-class person and famed GW Colonial, is doing it because he is proud to represent the USA.

Re: Tyler Cavanaugh

It could have been a big day for GW basketball, but unknown circumstances prevailed.

In the US versus Uruguay game, USA easily routed Uruguay 105-71. Tyler played 17 minutes and finished with 5 points and 2 rebounds. He came off the bench and seems to be a part of the regular rotation.

Panama lost to a good Dominican Republic team 70-61. Ricky Lindo started and logged 25 minutes, ending up with 6 points, 6 boards, and 2 blocks. He played well despite not being a featured player on offense.

Argentina was handled by Canada 99-87, but for some reason Pato did not play. He was the only player who did not get into the game (coach's decision), but I noticed him staying at the end of the bench, and he never took his warmup shirt off.

Finally, Iran beat Japan 79-68. Earlier this week, Yuta was slated to play, but he was not with the team yesterday. Not sure what happened there.

Anyway, it could have been a big day had everyone showed up and played, but having 4 players in the World Cup qualifiers from GW seems like a pretty big deal, especially one on team USA.

All four teams play a second game on Monday.

Re: Tyler Cavanaugh

Good report.
Tyler was a little off from 3, but excellent in team play and as I recall, had a very good plus-minus.
Ricky getting this level of experience is quite valuable.
Pato maybe nagging injuries?
Yuta, would think either ankle still a bit tender or he has some deal brewing. Hopefully, the deal part
because he deserves to be in the league with a decent NBA contract. So does Tyler, but that's another story.

Re: Tyler Cavanaugh

Very nicely done podcast, explaining Tyler's career stops.
He proved himself in the NBA, but it seems, sometimes that's not enough.
Would be interesting to know how the money Tyler is making overseas compares to the
NBA minimum, at least? His contract must be pretty substantial.
Most important, Tyler and his wife are enjoying themselves.
And he is a terrific and thoughtful GW alumnus who fills us with pride.
