Dinkins will provide some much added offense to GW after leading the Dukes in scoring last year. He has averaged 10 field goal attempts per season in his career, which means that he will certainly not hesitate to let it fly. The strong three point shooting splits (37%) and FTs (79%) will certainly be welcome after last year. Many of his threes taken were very deep, which helped Duquesne break other teams out of playing zone. The distance shooting has also been on high volume, as Tre has averaged 81 makes in his last two seasons at the D1 level.
Dinkins is also a very good passer and can create for others. In terms of weaknesses, he is not the best at finishing inside, as he was a pedestrian 45% from inside the arc at Duquesne last season. GW will likely need to add additional weapons that can attack the rim as that was a big hole in last year's roster. He also doesn't look to attack enough, as evidenced by the fact that he averaged just 2.5 FTA per game last year.
While he will definitely be a boon offensively, Dinkins is a liability on defense. Per EvanMiya, he had a -0.7 DBPR, which was easily the worst on a team that was fairly solid defensively. Hopefully this is not a JB situation and he can either take strides on that side of the ball or CC can properly mask his flaws on that side of the ball.
This is a good add overall given GW's needs. Welcome to Foggy Bottom Tre!

Woot! Woot! Welcome Tre! Excited for your addition and experience, esp winning the A10 tourney and playing in the NCAA tourney. My mom grew up in the 'Burgh so no shade to SouthWestern PA, but DC rocks. Raise High.

We interviewed Tre on GW Basketball Insiders and he had some interesting things to say. Talked about why he chose GW and some of his background at previous stops. Notably he said he had interest from Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, USC, UCF, and Michigan State and chose GW instead.
