Make that two gets today! Like Hunger, Marshall got the opportunity to play in the NCAA tournament back in 2023-24, where he put up 21 points on Marquette in WKU's first round game. By all accounts, he appears to be a good rebounder which will definitely be a plus at the 4 position, something GW didn't have last year. Equally as important, Marshall really made an impact defensively in his second year in Bowling Green both from a steal and block perspective (top 200 in percentage in both categories that year). If he can provide some help side D, that will make GW that much tougher around the hoop, and Slim already did a pretty good job there. He had a +1.02 DBPR on EvanMiya this past season which is fairly solid.
In terms of shooting, Marshall has been somewhat all over the place but given the shooting the Revs have going into next year he won't have to be a surefire threat from distance. Interestingly, Marshall took nearly half of his attempts from distance this past season, but his shot chart was more focused near the rim in his first two years with the Hilltoppers. I would expect something more similar to that at GW. He is a solid enough FT shooter, but it can't be ignored that his efficiency somewhat tanked last year. How much of that was the change in coaches from Lutz (who left for Oklahoma State) to Plona is unclear. He also had a subpar assist to turnover ratio for the first time in his D1 career. Hopefully his arrival in DC can get him back on track.
Welcome Tyrone to Foggy Bottom!
