Boston College lost again, this time to Tulane, who lost by 22 at home to New Orleans, I believe they were the worst power 5 Program last year and they may well be again this year!
7 NCAA Tourneys in 9 years between 2001-2009, 6 NCAA Tourney wins, a 3 seed two 4 seeds, incredible how far they've fallen within a few years of leaving The Big East for the ACC (common trend among schools who did)
Monday, a tremendous slate of games wall to wall to start the holiday week, some big top 25 showdowns, Rhode Island who have climbed into the top 100 get it started at 11am on ESPN2

The players era tournament creating a lot of great early season matchups
Syracuse to Houston overtime, Red Autry squad what an improvement
Thriller 1-point matchup between pair of top 15 teams St John's and Iowa State
Gonzaga double-digit victory over number 8 Alabama
Darren led Rutgers in scoring as they got handled by a much better Tennessee team
Seton Hall with a big upset over number 23 North Carolina State bit of a bumpy start for Shaheen Holloway Seton Hall looks much improved this season as well

Darren was second leading scorer for Rutgers
Syracuse gave away 17 free throws going 12 for 29 from the line, and shot 26% from 3, and still went to OT. They also got robbed on the final play of regulation at the rim where the replay showed a clear foul on the arm that would've given them two shots at winning. Felt bad for them cause they played their guts out and now must play Kansas
Interested to see Bonnies vs Tar Heels, Tenn vs Houston and see whats what with these teams

This is actually the type of stuff you write when you don't actually watch the games but read headlines and scores.
Syracuse struggled with Monmouth and last night they gave Houston a game but only because Houston was really bad offensively. Houston shot 36% from the floor. But Syracuse did them a huge favor by going 12-29 from the FT line. They play Kansas tonight and Tennessee next week. The Orange could be looking at 4-3 really quick. I hope that is not the case but it is likely the case. Not good for a staff that is under the proverbial gun. So I'm not really sure where the improvement that the Dude alludes to is yet. Hopefully, it will come soon.
Then we have Jun. The Dude might not have noticed because he didn't watch the game but Jun scored 6 of his 13 points in essentially garbage time (last 7:30) with Rutgers trailing by 30+. Hardly anything worth mentioning, especially when you get beat by 25.
The Dude should go into the sports news aggregation business. Analysis, not so much, unless he actually wants to take the time to watch games.

The Dude can never write the final score. Maybe writer's block? Finalitis?

Alright, let's keep the focus on Other Games of note please.
From what I can gather, Rutgers fans seem to have the same complaints about Jun that we did when he played here. He still is not finishing well around the rim and doesn't have an outside shot. It's a shame that the sophomore season we saw from him never translated into anything more. He's a great kid outside of basketball and I hope he's able to continue to better his community in DC.

Tennessee with a great win over Houston, that Tennessee team is a heckuva squad.
Gonzaga 100 Maryland 61. Gonzaga back to #1 KenPom
So its Michigan vs Gonzaga for the 2 Million Dollar Players Era Championship Title Game.
Rhode Island hammered Vermont
George Mason beat Florida Atlantic to win The Sunshine Slam Championship
Darren looked a lot more explosive 2 years ago than he did last year, has had some really good moments for a Big 10 Team this year.

VCU beats USF by 12, making our win look less. We’ve got some work to do to right the ship.

America’s Greatest Coach just suffered a 40 piece chicken barbecue at the hands of Michigan. The Dude may never recover lol.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Tuesday's loss still stings (hopefully that will convince GW to stop wearing the ugly gray jerseys) but every time I watch Loyola I see it could always be worse. Obviously their team is lacking chemistry, but I'm not sure a team in the NIL/Transfer Portal era has underperformed this much to start the year. It feels impossible but their defense makes GW's look like Houston. At least URI picked up a solid win against Temple.
Some good matchups for the A10 today:
Richmond vs. Furman 11 AM ET ESPN2 The Paladins (and really the entire SoCon) are having a down year
#24 Vanderbilt vs. VCU 12 PM ET ESPN Good opportunity for the Rams against a well-coached SEC team
St. Bonaventure vs. East Carolina 12 PM ET FS1 Might be the least interesting of the slate. ECU sucks and their coach is probably getting canned at the end of the year (if the school cares that is)
Santa Clara vs. St. Louis 7 PM ET CBSSN Really intriguing one here. SLU has had a great start to the year, but so have the Broncos/WCC (including a win over McNeese)
Georgetown vs. Dayton 7:30 PM ET ESPN2 #80 vs #71 on KenPom so should be a good one.

Great finishes with Stanford prayer at buzzer after intentionally missing free throw over SLU.
The BYU/Dayton game was a gem (partially due to refs letting them play) with lots of clutch shotmaking.
Both VCU and Bonnies looked solid.
Hope CC works on the ball-handling and trap issues this week. Not sure who the best ball-handler on this team is but it's gonna need some spiffing up for A10 play.

Connecticut beats number 13 Illinois
Dayton very nearly took down number 7 BYU to win the championship of that tournament! Dayton looks like a team that could do some damage come March madness

Just to add a little context to this, a win over Michigan would have meant $2 million NIL dollars or an additional $1 million for the Zags (paid by this tournament). Instead, America's Greatest Coach worked his magic to the tune of losing 101-61. Starting to wonder whether Dusty May might be America's Greatest Coach (who has not yet won a championship.)

Huge win for South Florida, beating Utah St by 13. Utah st was top 20 net and top 40 KenPom coming into this game. Certainly won’t hurt our resume, making USF win look better.

That was a great win for South Florida
Gonzaga 94 Kentucky 59
Huge Blowout wins for VCU and McNeese
The Knicks started their game 23-0 the longest recorded run in NBA history to start a game.
