Do we get paid for starting threads?

One measure of how talented a team is, would be concern over players transferring to schools equal to or perhaps better than GW. I don't really see anyone on this roster moving to a "better" school --- unless they want less playing time. Regarding the second half collapse, perhaps we can place part of the blame on Caputo's coaching. Perhaps a bigger part is the lack of talent on the team. For example, I was excited when I heard that Dinkins was joining the team, but was rather surprised by his inability to handle the ball, pass, shoot any shot in the 2 point range, or drive to the rim... Another issue seems to be how fragile our players seem to be.... Is there something in terms of conditioning and practice that is contributing to the number of injured players? Or, is the physicality of our players not equal to the demands of high level DI basketball over the course of a season? Or is this just bad luck?

JF, it makes him feel part of the conversation. He's been doing it for years now.

Nothing wrong with starting this thread. This is what the next few weeks and months will all be about. We have our built in misery with being GW basketball fans. No need to needlessly go after each other. Lets be kind

The portaling started a couple weeks back, but not much has happened to catch up on.
Half (if not more) of La Salle's roster is in the portal, including DC product/leading scorer Rob Dockery (who had a combined 48 points in two games against GW). Just a tough situation there.
Daquan Davis (Providence) and Jamie Kaiser Jr. (Butler) are local players. Both had GW offers out of HS. Eemeli Yalaho (Washington State) also had a GW offer. Seems to be a good fit for CC's system and was HS teammates with Tricky.
The big one of course though is Kwame Evans Jr. announcing his transfer from Oregon. Probably a long shot but one can always hope lol.

Not clear if Pat Ngomba II will stay at Duke following his injury. Imagine both him and Evans Jr coming back to their parents' stomping ground! That would excite this fanbase (hey, edible-induced wishful thinking is still technically "thinking").

If we could just find someone with an extra $5 million to add to our current NIL lol

I had thought that the portal wasn't going to open up until after the tournament season was over. Is it opened now only for teams that have already finished their seasons?

Technically the portal does not open until April 7th.
It doesn't stop kids and/or their agents from announcing their "intent" to enter the portal on social media to generate buzz.

Actually it's more than that. It's like the legal tampering period for NFL Free Agency.

Jacoi is back in the portal. Averaged 12.3 ppg this year. He should be at a higher level than Longwood but his three point shot is holding him back (just 25% this season). Has all the other tools to be a good player.

Imagine a team with Ngongba Jr, Kwame Jr, Khamenia, and Blue Cain.
A sons of Colonials core would be incredible!

I would say any one of us has a better chance at the Powerball lottery than seeing all four of these guys in a GW jersey. In fact, I would say its highly unlikely even one of them comes. We need to be looking at college rosters for a starting point guard, a starting 5 man, and a 2/3 knock down shooter to begin with and then see if anyone else departs which will dictate any additional needs.

We need a Joe McDonald.

I really appreciate that the portal is only open for 15 days this year. Makes team building incredibly important and things should settle quickly.
Considering purchasing an on3 subscription for $20 this offseason. Anyone have experience?

Two other guys who've caught my eye are Jordan Elerbee from Florida Gulf Coast and Garrett Sundra from Notre Dame. Elerbee went to St Joe's Prep in Philly and Sundra (who we offered early in Caputo's tenure) went to Paul VI.

Dayan Nessah portaling from Cleveland State. Perhaps the least surprising announcement so far. Led the Vikings in scoring with 15.5 ppg, but unsurprisingly missed a bunch of games at the end of the year. Talented player, but you have to assume he's not playing a full season at this point with his injury history.

Don't we have Joe McDonald working at GW?
Excellent player and good guy with a good GW supportive family.
Preferred idea is to put him back in uniform and call him by another name.
Or at least get him back on the sidelines or in some sort of advisory role to teach
point guards how to be point guards.
And make everyone better while still using their individual talents. Something which our players and offensive schemes haven't quite mastered.
