Think Tallent’s stats hold up no matter what era. Consider also that he played before the 3 point shot.

Bob Tallent was on Kentucky’s 1965–66 all white team that lost to Texas Western's all black team in the  historic 1966 NCAA championship game. Tallent ultimately went on to coach the 1970-1971 freshman team, which was led by a deadeye left handed jump shooter with unlimited range that we now know as Wisconsin Colonial,   In the words of Paul Harvey, now you know the rest of the story.

With all due respect to that dead eye Badger baller, the team of our dreams was the 71-72 freshman team that ended the Maryland frosh’s 23 game winning streak. Clyde Burwell, Haviland Harper, Pat Tallent, Keith Morris, Bob Shanta (subsequent 1B for baseball) and Ned Riddile (the Max Blank injury plagued story before the Odessa kid). If only Free Quebec had been a little older.
