Boardhost’s New Paid Model
As anyone who has been to this site in the past 24 hours knows, our site went down on Monday. After doing research, I discovered that boardhost no longer offers its free ad-based service.
While I am bothered by having to pay $15 a month, the reality is that this site has been worth much more than that… Much, much, more… since It was created. In fact, regardless of any negative feelings that any of us have had on this site, it has been the single most important thing to keep many of us involved, aware, and wanting to be a part of the GW Basketball community.
Of course, the site really is nothing without each of you. Whether you are a regular poster and source of information, or a lurker who reads but never posts, or like me somewhere in between, thank you for being a part of this GW Hoops board.
At some point I may do a call for donations, but for now please actively and respectfully enjoy the site and that is gift enough.

Please ask for a token donation of $5 per member to start
that is not much for what is offered by this board

Thanks Barry. Willing to help if needed. Agree that it is a cheap price for all of us to pay a small fee- it is my go to for entertainment. My favorite is, based on the poster, predicting who responds and what their response is! Pretty funny and enjoyable.

I have a preference for PayPal, I'm smartphone illiterate and Paypal works on both PC's and phones. Also we want GWAA to be able to pay from where ever he is 
. I've never used Venmo so I'm relying on Google to tell me the truth. Evidently PayPal fees are higher though.

Bob, you can put the V. app on your laptop. Both are operated under the Paypal corp. $15 is the result of the Bluehost roll up. I think I am looking at an old computer that a friend of GWHoops got for Herve.

Hmm - google told me that venmo was only on mobile platforms, so do I roll my PC around on a mobile cart?
