Thought this would be fun to bring back with under two months to go until the season gets underway. With our lead guy Armel graduating, who takes over as the scoring leader this season? Comment below with any other additional thoughts.
Starting with the returners:
Does JNJ take the sophomore jump and absolutely take over the A10 like his dad?
Does Jamison build on his all-freshman team honor mark into an all-conference spot?
Does Chase become the go-to guy down low, leading a balanced scoring team?
Does Maceo enjoy a successful final campaign and go out on top as the team leader?
Then, of course we have the transfers in:
Does James take Armel's role directly and become the go-to guy in the PnR?
Does Sloan emerge as the go-to guy from deep, replicating his success from Siena?
Does Matt put it all together in his final season? Thinking along the terms of maybe a guy like DJ who wasn't very efficient at Illinois, but led the team in scoring his lone season in Foggy Bottom. Of course, that 18-19 team wasn't as talented, but you never know!

Lots of good questions. My vote went to James largely because I saw what Armel was able to do a year ago in this offense and hope that James will be an even better version. The ball should be in his hands a lot and JC and staff encourage point guards to score when they have the opportunity. A few other thoughts:
JNJ is the most interesting storyline. He can simply do things that most everyone else can not. He is that athletic. The question boils down to whether he can improve the things that he was not so reliable doing, such as taking care of the ball (which includes limiting his risky plays without stifling his creativity) as well as becoming a dependable outside shooter.
One of the more impressive things I can say about Jamison is the manner in which his game evolved last season. He became an instant threat from deep but as the season wore on, defenses became intent on overextending their defense. For a couple of games, Jamison looked flustered. Then, he developed a sweet pump fake which brought his man into the air as he dribbled in for a higher percentage two point shot. And from there, he developed a pump fake/step back move which enabled him to receive clean three point looks once again. The sky is the limit as long as he continues to make concerted efforts at being one step ahead of the competition. All-conference may be too lofty a goal but then again, who knows?
One thing the coaching staff loved about Sloan at Siena was how clutch a shooter he was during pressure situations. I'd expect him to be a legitimate during the final 4 minutes of halves, particularly second halves where the outcome has yet to be decided. Will be interesting to see whether the trio of Jack, Battle and Seymour will all see the court at the same time or whether we're more likely to see two at a time. There will be some defensive shortcomings playing all three together so this will be entirely contingent upon the opponent and game situation.
Chase's competition for minutes really ought to come from Noel and Hunter (when available). Matt is 6' 9" but his game is not ideally suited to play the 5. Or, will JC opt to play a bigger backcourt with a smaller frontcourt at times? A lineup consisting of Bishop or JNJ, Battle, Moyer, and a combination of Jack/Brelsford/Ball would fit this bill. The freshmen are important here because Brelsford and Ball offer the size that JC would likely prefer when playing a smaller frontcourt.
The exciting thing about this team is that assuming most everyone pans out, there are a ton of interchangeable parts to work with.

Agree 100% GWMayhem. JNJ strikes me as the ultimate wildcard. His pedigree and athletic ability suggests he can perhaps take the alpha role on the team, but that becomes less clear with Bishop eligible.
It will be interesting to watch who wins the three-point crown between Maceo, Jamison, and Sloan this year - was actually considering making that the original poll question. Bishop being able to can threes at the point I think will make a big difference as well. Neither JNJ nor Armel were consistent enough from deep, causing the defenses to kind of hang in the paint.
A solid 24 votes cast so far. After Bishop took an early lead, Jamison has stormed back to take the lead in the poll. Not gonna lie, thought JNJ would have a few more votes than he does currently, but Bishop and Battle have to be among the favorites to pace the team in scoring this upcoming season.
