A win is a win and we are moving on.
Team didn’t celebrate much, which tells me this was more relief than elation to get through it. Hopefully not a sign or lost confidence.
My take on this game is that we came out strong against a team we beat by 24, but then relaxed (lost focus) with the big lead, then found ourselves in a game and despite generating good shots for long stretches of the second half and playing with decent tempo, we just couldn’t find our execution again. Fortunately we are better than Fordham and got the win.
Now let’s go beat Mason

Really guys, it's a shame what our programs have become. Celebrating a win over a two win team, just barely. No NCAA again or in the future.

This has been a symptom of our teams the last couple of years. As Mike Hall liked to say we really need to get some "dogs" who don't let the foot of the pedal. Lindo seems to be that. Remains to be seen who else has that in them.

Not hugely heartened by a literally last seconds victory over the league's worse team after they had only 2 practices and midseason coaching change.
If we sniff the finals, that would be a good sign.
Glad for win,but so far not a real good look for us.

Good news: GW won.
Bad news: I need to restock the liquor cabinet before tomorrow´s game.
As FQ said, a win is a win is a win. Having said that, methinks folks in Dante´s 9th Circle (a.k.a. Fairfax County) are going to sleep peacefully tonight.

Also, outside of the Big 3, the rest of the team shot 2-15. Fordham had 5 different guys made at least 3 fgs.

We scored 25 points in the first 13 minutes of the game. Scored 28 in the last 27. Survive and advance. Let's see what kind of an effort they can put up against Mason.

A win in March is always good. Happy for it.

No style points. Just take the W and move on this time of year. We definitely need more talent and help is on the way.
Crazy statistic of the day ... we were whistled for a total of 7 fouls the entire game!

The game is not close if Moyer got the minutes that went to Paar, that alone was a huge difference.
We have the beginnings of the rebuild in place. And we have some guys who just aren't good enough. That's what early rebuilding looks like

Sorry gang but there is a LOT to not be very happy about it. Dr. G said it early in his analysis...GW should not be relying upon their outside shooting against a team that they are superior to. There was just no need to take countless numbers of outside shots (many contested) with absolutely nobody in position to try for a rebound. I believe he said that this strategy plays right into Fordham's hands. And it did. This team is maddeningly inconsistent. How do you go from looking great in building a 25-10 lead to allowing a team who had been paused for 18 days to find their legs down the stretch? There is no point in praising the low number of turnovers when the alternative is an inordinately high number of missed shots with no hope for a rebound. You might as well refer to those possessions as turnover because the play results in the exact same outcome.
Chase is obviously still suffering from fatigue and had no business being on the court for the length of some of the stretches that he endured today.
James either doesn't want to play defense or just can't do it. His decision to walk the ball up the court while a Fordham player put his sneaker back on rivaled his ten second violation while walking the ball up the court last week. For that matter, can any of our guards stay between their man and the basket when their man is driving? It seems like we are getting beat every time. And as Dr. G. pointed out, you can't blame Hunter Dean for allowing his man to score when in reality, he has to leave his man to cut off penetration. No joke....how about we give Brandon Leftwich some meaningful minutes for no other reason than to see if he knows how to really defend someone. Ball has the technique but gets beat due to foot speed. Brelsford defends at times but is woefully inconsistent other times.
It speaks volumes that Battle and Lindo had to each come up big today just to squeak by Fordham. If your happiness is solely dictated by wins and losses, then have fun celebrating this one. If it is instead determined by watching this team play as well as it can play, for all 40 minutes, then you have every reason to feel concerned, if not worse.

An embarrassment. This season can't end soon enough. And to think I thought a "win" in this gimme play-in game would give us a glimmer of hope going into next season - we even managed to screw that up!

What award does JC win for not calling a single timeout during the game?

For me, the reality is that we have 3 A10 quality players right now. If we could get 4 or 5 more players like Bishop, Battle, and Lindo, we'd be in good shape. The question is whether we can get those guys before we lose the 3 we've got...
