The very valid point LSF is making is that Chase's play has regressed throughout the season and not just since the team returned from the long pause.  It's really not a question of picking on a weakest link.  Along with several others, I do feel there is a legitimate need for this coaching staff to have someone who can work with the big men and help develop their respective games.

Just a question and not a statement. Do you feel like Brown has progressed? If yes, do you believe the current staff had any role in this?

Nice memory while waiting for Mason:

UMass becomes first team in A-10 Tournament score 100 points since 1999 when GW beat Dayton 100-90 at the Spectrum. Twenty-two years ago today.

Really hard to say.  I'm not willing to answer yes simply because Noel is playing more right now out of necessity.  Since the break, his minutes have gone from 6 per game to 14.5 per game over the last 4 games.  Naturally, he is scoring a bit more.  His rebounding per minutes played has gone down slightly.  The one area of great improvement has been in taking care of the ball.  Zero turnovers in the last 4 games compared with averaging just over 1 per game despite playing just 6 minutes per.

His progression has been modest at best.  He came in as a fairly raw prospect and his game is still a lot closer to raw than polished IMO.  Do you disagree that bringing in someone who is adept at coaching big men would be in the team's best interest?

Re: GW vs Mason A10 Tourney Game Thread

Patriots have an emerging freshman sharpshooter in Tyler Kolek who is the perfect guy to bust our soft 3 point defense. Oduro is more than most of our bigs can handle on the boards. Those are my two main matchup concerns, in addition to the huge, unsolvable problem of us not having enough players. Unless Battle has a career night, Mason by 14.

Starting 5:
Bishop
Battle
Lindo
Dean
Paar

Re: GW vs Mason A10 Tourney Game Thread

Wow Dean starting for Ball! Dean actually has the highest offensive rating of guys left on the team and one of the lower defensive ratings (meaning better) yet feels like he hurts the team offensively whenever he is in.

I think Dean's given some good energy, and a little extra interior defense.

Well, buckle up, and lets pull an upset

Re: GW vs Mason A10 Tourney Game Thread

Clearly going big to try to help on the defensive glass.  And not as worried about perimeter shooting.  It’s a VERY tall team we are starting.

Have Paar and Dean played at the same time even one minute this season?

Re: GW vs Mason A10 Tourney Game Thread

Paar finally gets one to fall but so far we looked completely gassed

Re: GW vs Mason A10 Tourney Game Thread

Finally, a center shoots from the too of the key on the pick and pop.

We know Chase and Dean can do it.  Let’s see more of that from Chase and Dean when left alone.

Re: GW vs Mason A10 Tourney Game Thread

Thought it was Paar making 3. A good sign in any case.

Re: GW vs Mason A10 Tourney Game Thread

James Bishop show so far.  Other guys need to keep moving around.

This is not a dig at Bishop, there just doesn't seem to be much else out there right now.

Re: GW vs Mason A10 Tourney Game Thread

Doing well on the defensive glass and have only taken one bad shot so far.

Great play by Bishop to get the three shots.  Second time he’s done that recently. Even though he’s missed a couple, I like Bishop’s aggressiveness on offense today.  That should free up battle.

Once the ball stops we're dead.  Brelsford had nowhere to go.
