George Mason at Dayton   7  ESPN2

Maryland at Penn State   7  Big 10 Network  -  Maryland is on the bubble even with a 4-7 record because the Big 10 is so strong that pretty much any conference win you get can really boost your tournament resume

Re: Other Games - November

Who won that Maryland game T?

Another loss for Duke! we are looking at a very likely NCAA Tourney that has neither Duke nor Kentucky.  Duke is 7-7.  Kentucky also loses again, they an incredible, 5-12.

Re: Other Games - November

Thomas you certainly go Terry Porter's firing right.  Who's next?

Re: Other Games - November

The Dude,  Maryland lost a close game to Penn State, I'm assuming Maryland still has a decent chance at the NCAA tournament because the Big 10 is just loaded, and they've beaten 3 or 4 upper-tier teams in the conference. Michigan State is also struggling, in addition to Duke and Kentucky. Duke played North Carolina last night, and neither team was ranked, I believe they said it was the first time since 1960 that this has happened.

BC,  Terry Porter was fired? That's news to me. DMVPiranha wrote that his own son transferred from the team so this is to be expected!

Georgetown at #3 Villanova  2:30   Fox   - Georgetown has won both games since returning from their 3 week COVID shut down. They had lost 5 or 6 in a row prior to the shut down.

Re: Other Games - November

Kentucky, loses at home, to Arkansas, a team they had not lost to in nearly a decade.

They are....5-13.   Maybe Cal, can try to pull A Coach K and see if he can have the record put onto an Assistant Coach for the year

Speaking of Duke, they ALSO lost again, at home, to a bad Notre Dame team.  both teams are under .500 late in the season, incredible stuff

with the win, VCU at 15-4 and 40s KenPom looking pretty good for their chances

Re: Other Games - November

The Dude,  I think the NCAA should have just let every school in the tournament. With all of the cancelled games and COVID pauses, how can you accurately use metric numbers for most schools? Teams like Maryland, Richmond and St.Louis may have been safely in the NCAA tournament at this point if it weren't for the cancellations.

St.Louis at Fordham                 3:30   CBS SportsNetwork

Auburn at Kentucky                   1       CBS
Butler at Georgetown                1:30  CBS SportsNetwork
Northwestern at #25 Rutgers    5       Big 10 Network

Re: Other Games - November

Thomas, are they making any adjustments to the criteria this year?

G'town is pounding on Butler

Re: Other Games - November

I'm not sure if they've made any adjustments to the metric numbers, but St.Louis seemed to be on pace for a big-time season before their COVID pause, now they are on the bubble. St.Louis and GW have both played just 5 conference games. I thought the A10 would add in some conference games for St.Louis to boost their tournament resume.

The COVID break seems to have helped Georgetown, they may be the only team who came back stronger after being off. Georgetown looked to be in store for one of their worst seasons in school history prior to their shut down.

La Salle at St.Joe's        right now   NBC SportsNetwork
George Mason at VCU  2:30           NBC SportsNetwork

Georgia Tech at Miami         right now   MASN - I included this game because Georgia Tech leads 48-18 at the half!! I know Larranaga(the former George Mason coach) has some injuries, but they shouldn't be this bad
Kentucky at #19 Tennessee  1         CBS
Seton Hall at Georgetown     5:30    CBS SportsNetwork

Re: Other Games - November

Rutgers beat Indiana tonight, and still look NCAA bound.

4 years into the Archie Miller at Indiana tenure, things are looking pretty dicey:

 Indiana:67–54 (.558)33–41 (.452)

Re: Other Games - November

Duke lost again, they remain in jeopardy of missing the tourney.

Kansas beat Baylor, leaving Gonzaga as the only undefeated team, and with a real chance to go the distance undefeated, first team since 1976 Indiana??

Kentucky..... is 8-14.

Re: Other Games - November

Indiana still views themselves as a blue blood, so Archie Miller finishing in the middle or bottom half of the Big 10 every year can't be good for him. Duke star freshman left the team a couple of weeks ago to prepare for the NBA draft and they appeared to get better without him, until the loss to Louisville over the weekend. J.Johnson leaving Duke late in the season seemed to spark the 'Colleges Are Using Players/Players Should Be Paid' debate.

Re: Other Games - November

Tom Crean is now 14–40 (.259)
in league play. Is the a Coach in America who does less with more than Crean?

The A10 Semis are tonight on CBS Sports, but the Final is not until not weekend? why'd they schedule it like that?

Re: Other Games - November

Butler lost by 20 again today, they are 9-14. Jair was 2 for 11 with zero assists

I get Kethan Savage....but Jair Bolden at Butler? how far has Butler fallen?
Never passes, plays zero defense, just floats around looking to hoist long jumpers, and not at all at a good clip.

Shame is that he's got some real physical talent, and nice touch, but that's not a guy who is going to help you win. Was comically mismatched last year with Frank Martin.

Re: Other Games - November

Let's pretend that Tom Crean did not take Marquette to a Final 4 (yes, D-Wade helped a bit), he also took Indiana to three Sweet 16's within a five year period.  Since Archie Miller replaced him, Indiana has yet to make the NCAA tournament (though they were likely on the right side of the bubble last year, but a Sweet 16 trip for last year's team would have been unlikely).  They will need to win the Big 10 Tournament to have a chance this season.  In 4 seasons, Miller is 10 games over .500 at Indiana.  Crean was 31 games over .500 at Indiana but took over a terrible program that he had to rebuild from scratch.  He finished 69 games over .500 throughout his final 6 seasons, including the one that got him fired.

Re: Other Games - November

Lunardi has St Bona now a 9 seed, so very safely IN. VCU in his first 4 byes, so we for sure want VCU to win this Finale.

What's with spreading apart the Semis and Finals so long??
