Re: Word Association

W) --- either "Colonels" or "Man, those teams with Pat Ewing were really something!". And that applies for GW in general, not just GW hoops.

Re: Word Association

Its all about the NBA, the pinnacle of the basketball world.  If the friend I ask is of my age, the answer would have to be Red.   It is is young (20 something) friend, I would say Yuta. A 40 something may go Yinka.   The others seem to fall more under the "15 minutes of fame (or infamy)" category.

Re: Word Association

Interestingly, I conducted a small poll among some friends who are college basketball fans but not GW fans per se.  Each person answered the question with Yinka.  It's amazing how much name recognition Yinka enjoyed.  And, he only played at GW for two seasons.

Very surprisingly, nobody either here or among who I asked went with Shawnta.  I would have thought that he was as synonymous with GW basketball as anyone or anything.
