Thread just in case any details get leaked

Wouldn't read that much into results if they get leaked. We will probably be missing at least three guys (one important starter and two likely subs who should be in the rotation) due to minor injuries. All should be good by end of next week. I'll tell you who after the scrimmage begins just in case Bucknell is reading this board lol.

I read a pretty bland review of the scrimmage on a Bucknell website. GW got up 12 in the first half and ended up up by 2 at half. Next 30 minutes Gw got up by 16 and sounded like it did not get any closer. Only comment was neither team shot well. Not sure who played for GW.

I'll take it. Undefeated on the season!

I'm excited for GWRising to tell us not to read too much into the results 4 games in ;P
(I mean this as a joke, i definitely wouldnt take too much from a preseason scrimmage with important dudes missing, and either way its good to hear about a win, meaningless or no!)

I would say this was as good as could be expected minus Lindo, Freeman and Nixon (all out with what appears to be short-term injuries) and with Harris on a severe minutes restriction for now. All this meant that the walk-ons played a lot. Bucknell is predicted to be a middle of the pack Patriot League team but might be better than people are giving them credit for in the preseason.

To your knowledge, any risk to the start of the season for Lindo, Freeman and Nixon?

No. All are expected back to practice at some point this week. I would say they are mostly bumps and bruises with Lindo's being a little more serious but he's getting better (and had already missed some time prior to the scrimmage). At this point, nothing to worry about unless one has a setback..

Thanks!

Thanks Rising, the official reporter of the GW Colonials. (It would be nice if you had any competition.)

We won't know about Freeman and Nixon, despite expectations and more important practice reports, until we play teams above the Bucknell level. But obviously, there are hopes and perhaps high hopes one or both can turn out to very valued Colonials.
But Lindo, at least from last year, is the real thing and at a highly important and somewhat thin position for us.
Hope they all heal nicely and in time and it was indeed wise not to push things.

The Van der Heijden mentioned in the Bucknell forum is the older brother or Eric, GW target and Ole Miss freshman. Also nephew of GW alum Bill Brigham.

Thanks for the update Rising. Always appreciated. My hope meter is slightly rising each day as we get closer to the start of the season. Praying we can stay healthy until then!
