The Minnesota-Western Kentucky game is on ESPNU, its part of a 4-team tournament in Asheville, if Minnesota wins, they'll play the winner of South Carolina and Princeton on Sunday
Butler(Jair Bolden) is playing Central Arkansas right now on FS2
Richmond is playing Utah State right now(they are losing 57-53 with about 10 minutes left) on CBS SportsNetwork, this game is being played at Navy, it may be part of a tournament

UCLA vs Villanova is a great game.
Almost every key player, is a returning player, in contrast to the Duke-Kentucky game where for the 10th year in a row, its just a collection of 1 and dones, on both sides. None of those guys was here last year, none will be here next year. Not sure that's even a team in the conventional sense, more like a 1 year landing spot for obvious NBA players.
UCLA vs Villanova harkens back to the old days where great players could make a big name for themelves in March Madness, and then you see them back at school get to do it all over again. Some familiarity, you know the players in advance.

Georgetown is trailing Dartmouth 30-12 with about 6 minutes left in the 1st half!! The game is on FS2. They look horrible offensively

Dartmouth has a freshman guard from the D.C. area named Ryan Cornish, who is just destroying Georgetown in the 1st half. He has 11 points and has hit 2 or 3 long three pointers. The name sounds familiar did GW recruit him?

I think you're thinking of Ike Cornish who ended up at MD?

You're right, Ike Cornish was the 'Cornish' I was thinking of, not this guard who just lit up Georgetown in the 1st half.
Poog, I'm glad you mentioned it because he Ryan Cornish doesn't have "the look" of someone you would fear on a basketball court. LOL The way he buried a couple of 3's in front of Georgetown's bench was hilarious!!

Tight game between Dayton and future GW opponent UMass Lowell 47-44 with 7:30 left to go
Online!
Dayton loses 59-58.
Their last possession had 2020 OOC GW vibes. Had to heave a desperation 3 as the clock expired.
The pedigree of Dayton's starting 5 is a good as it gets in the A10. Bad, bad loss.

After a great opening day for thr A10, today was rough. VCU lost to Wagner. Duq lost to Hofstra. Davidson currently trailing San Fran. LaSalle did get their first one (over Albany). And St Joe beat Mezzie’s Mt St Mary’s).
Dayton is starting 3 freshman and two sophomore transfers, one of whom didn’t play much last year. Extremely talented, but as we know, it takes time for newcomers and freshman to jell. I will say -on the bench they have Mustupha Amzil, who looked very good for them last year, and Elijah Weaver, who was very solid at USC. If their coach is committed to starting the freshman and Koby Ellis over those two (and possibly take additional lumps) he must really think highly of them.

Jamison Battle and Minnesota took down Princeton 87-80 in 2OT to win the Asheville Championship.
Battle had another nice game (24 points, 11 rebounds, 1 steal) and currently leads the team in PPG, FG%, rebounds (tied) and minutes.

Former GW target Jaelin Llewellyn played great for Princeton as well.

Perhaps we should have made Jamison feel more valued here and passed him the ball more.

Perhaps you haven't got a clue about what you are talking about.
Battle took the second most shots on the team despite missing 2 games and the most threes. He played more minutes than anyone. He did not leave because of his role - he left becuase he was homesick which is why he went to Minnesota. Did not like GW that much especially in a COVID year. If he had taken every shot last year, he still would have likely left. So let's stop with the uninformed nonsense. Because you conjure something up in your head doesn't make it so.

Uninformed bitching comes with the territory here at GWHoops.
I remember a few bitching when Savage was told by ML he wasn't going to be the starting point guard and he decided to try his luck and take his services to a better school in a better conference (where he still wasn't the primary point guard). Those few were saying things like "he was run out of town" and "didn't like ML", etc.
We have a program with a pathetic fan base and very little support from the administration. It's amazing how well we have done in the past considering the lack of support. Then add in the few "experts" who never played a competitive sport in college or beyond in their life doling out their free advice and you have GWHoops! Some things never change.

Ed Cooley and Providence beat Wisconsin at Wisconsin tonight.
Ed Cooley took Providence, no easy place to win to 5 straight NCAA trips, this team may make it back.
Those Kris Dunn teams were a lot of fun to watch.

UMass blew out Penn State, 81-56, last night at home. The game was actually televised on ESPNU or CBS Sportsnetwork, I should've posted about it but forgot. Penn State is projected to be one of the worst teams in the Big 10 this year, but so is UMass in the A-10. Even if Penn State ends up being terrible, its always a positive when an A-10 school can punish a BCS school in this fashion, especially when you consider how the A-10 has been taking it on the chin so far in the non-conference slate. UMass was led by big man Trent Buttrick, who transferred from Penn State.
St. Louis at #11 Memphis 8PM ESPN+ - This is a chance for the A-10 to get a big-time OOC win. I'm surprised that this game is only on ESPN+ because Memphis signed a couple 1-and-done stud freshmen and I assumed all of their games would be on national television
Georgia State at Richmond 7 NBC Sports Washington
American U at Georgetown 8:30 FS2 - American has won their first 2 games and we saw how Georgetown looked against what is projected to be a middle-of-the-pack Ivy League school in Dartmouth last Saturday

It should be fair to say, we should all be AU Eagles tonight.
