#1 Baylor loses at home, and the other undefeated team, #5 USC also loses, to Stanford.
In A10 play, Davidson, Bonnies and Dayton all win
Offline
Davidson is now 13-2 and #45 KenPom, looking like a likely at large bid team. Seem to have displaced the Bonnies as the A10 team to beat
13 and 7 tonight for Battle, as Minnesota loses by 2 on the road to #10 Michigan St.
Georgia loses again, they are 5-11 and the worst Power 5 KenPom team in the country. No one does less with more than Tom Crean, year after year

Two big A10 games tonight on ESPN's networks.
Bonnies vs VCU. Davidson vs Richmond.
Bonnies VCU Davidson all could land an at large bid with a big enough A10 season, these are the kind of games that really decide those things.
Davidson looks like they have the best chance so far.

Watching the Dayton- Dukes game. So nice to see fans in the stands. Whomever is making the decisions at GW and/or DC - just a different world in the rest of the world.
Am requesting my in-used ticket money be used somewhere else in the university rather than on the athletic program until they fix this mess.

The Dayton-Duquesne game is on the USA Network, it's the first game of an A-10 triple-header. Dayton is up by 19 midway through the 2nd half. St. Bonaventure ended up beating VCU by 20 and Davidson won at Richmond, so it looks like the conference is stronger this year from top to bottom
Fordham at St. Louis 2:30 USA
Rhode Island at UMass 4:30 USA
Rutgers at Maryland 2 Big 10 Network

If the top of the A10 keeps winning they all have at large chances. Every year is about the same, unless you have a 2020 Dayton team, that's your path. The league did pretty well in the OOC so we'll see how the League play goes.
The top of the league does look much better than the pack this year, so I could see a few teams go 15-3 and put together at large resumes.

Congrats to Rutgers on the win at MD.

Good win for the GW Duo of Karl and Pikiell!
Baylor became the first AP No. 1 team in men's college basketball history to lose two home games in a week after Oklahoma State stunned them Saturday with a 61-54 victory.

There are no A-10 teams playing today but Georgetown plays at St.John's on FOX at 4:30, and are 11-point underdogs. If this helps, Georgetown fans are probably feeling the same sense of frustration and disappointment that everyone who posts here is experiencing, as they've also been blown out in their first 2 conference games at home, including a loss to Butler where Jair Bolden scored a season high of 23.

Yikes, Villanova 82 Butler 42.
Butler has a 127 KenPom. Things have been trending south for Butler as a program

A few years ago, Mike Brey actually agreed to a home and home(or a 2 for 1) against Howard after Kenny Blakeney got the job. I believe M.Brey coached and may have recruited K.Blakeney to Duke when Brey was an assistant for Coach K around 1989. Notre Dame plays at Howard today at 2:30 on Fox, in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

Howard was down 1 with 30 seconds left to go. Unfortunately couldn't get a look at 3 to tie the game. Great effort by the Bison today.

GW0509, you're right that was a great effort by Howard. Notre Dame has struggled over the past few years, and this looks to be a "bounce back" sort of year/team for Brey and they were lucky to get out of Howard with a win. This game almost followed the same script as the George Mason-GW game where Notre Dame had a 9 or 10 point lead late in the game, and then unraveled(turnovers, bad shots, sloppy offense, etcc) in the final minutes, but Howard couldn't get a clean look for a 3 at the end. I thought Notre Dame would foul them and not allow to even set up for a 3. Do you think Notre Dame will agree to play at Howard again?? Usually, the BCS teams back out of games like this when the mid-major gives them a scare or beats them.
Davidson is playing at VCU right now on CBS Sports Network, VCU leads 53-49 with about 7 minutes left.
Maryland is also losing by 17 at MIchigan on ESPN 2 in the 2nd half. Michigan was really struggling coming into this game, but they're continuing their domination over Maryland, they beat Maryland 3 times last year.
Another interesting result going on now, is Miami leads North Carolina by about 30 in the 2nd half. Hubert Davis appears to be having the same struggles as Juwan Howard in taking over at their alma mater's. MIami lost to VCU or Dayton early in the year and looked to be a average or below average team, Larranaga has really turned things around

Howard did take Michigan to the Elite 8 last year though, right?
Not sure why North Carolina would go with Hubert Davis, this is the bluest of blue bloods, they pulled Roy from Kansas, wouldn't you go with someone like that over a former player with scant experience?
Danny Manning, Ewing, Chris Mullin, star players have a pretty shoddy record generally yeah? Penny's struggled at Memphis. I think Howard's had the best success of former NBA stars in the college Coaching ranks.
In contrast, Leonard Hamilton at Florida St, what a job he's done. 6 minutes to go up 9 vs Duke.

Florida St beats Duke!
Which Coach has the record for most wins over a ranked opponent, while unranked?
55 wins, Leonard Hamilton, America's most underappreciated Coach

The GW Duo of Karl and Pikiell does it again, a win against #19 KenPom, 13-4 Iowa

Trio actually with TJ. Their KenPom is only #90 (would be 7th place in the A-10) because of the crappy OOC schedule (#347 out of 358). Somethings never change.
Also, it feels like we were recruiting Geo Baker a decade ago and he’s still at Rutgers. Student of the Jess Settles school of college attendance.

Yeah, Michigan lost in the Elite 8 last year, but he brought in the highest rated incoming recruiting class this season, that's why a lot of people are surprised by the bad start. I believe Juwan Howard has also signed an elite recruiting class for next season, so he'll have the talent to win big.
A huge, overlooked development in the A-10 is Davidson, they've actually won 14 straight games, which is tied with Auburn for the longest in the nation right now. I knew they had been playing well, but not that well. I figure they'll be ranked in the top 20(maybe top 15) next week. It's good that the A-10 appears to have the potential of getting possibly 4 teams in the NCAA tournament again this year
St.Louis at UMass 7 ESPN+
Georgetown at #21 Providence 5 FS1 - Georgetown is a double-digit underdog again in this game. Someone on their board started a thread titled "0-20" referring to the possibility of Georgetown going 0-20 in the Big East this year. It's actually a real possibility because DePaul(the usual Big East bottom-feeder) is much improved this year, despite only having 1 conference win, so Georgetown may not be able to bank on beating DePaul once or twice. Butler looks to be the only other somewhat weak team in the Big East, and they beat Georgetown pretty convincingly at the Capitol MCI Center(or whatever its called) already this year.

Not an "other game" but Kevin Ollie won his arbitration case vs. UConn. UConn has to pay $11,157,032 within next 10 business days.
