Chris Monroe just called me up to touch base with an old alumni. Really a wonderful surprise. He is a nice person. I wished him a happy birthday, which was on Wednesday. We talked at length about his playing days and what was going on now at GW. I told him he should have gone onto the court last night and showed the team how to box out. At 6'3 he was the team's leading scorer and a great rebounder. (1999-2003). With the new president maybe there is some hope for the program. In my day and in his, players were always playing hard, and beat up after a game. Never afraid to mix it up and play hard. Alas. Anyway, it's was nice to talk with a GW great.

He called and emailed me too but I haven't responded because I figured he just wanted a bigger donation. After reading your post, though, maybe I'll call him back.

Would make a great assistant coach if he's interested.
Don't know why, if he's interested, it wasn't thought of before, though it's a big step with
no coaching background.
But he could definitely teach how to rebound. Everyone, but particularly the guards.
Chris is an original power guard.
