Good second and third effort. And much more team play.
In addition to rebounding and 3 point D.
And the UMass streak continues!

Hail to the Buff! Hail to the Blue!!!
Game ball for? I´d say Freeman who played a really solid game. GW is clearly no longer one of the A10 bottom feeders.

Great win!
Really important game because instead of falling to 4-6 with UMASS also 4-6 but with the tiebreak over us, we move to 5-5 and put Umass two games behind us. And should give us confidence for other games, even on the road.
UMASS not fouling down 9 with about 50 seconds left was surprising.

Freeman totally outplayed Fernandes today. Fantastic job by players and coaches in playing together and making UMASS pay for trying to double Bishop most of the game.

Wasn't able to watch the game so I'll rely on all of you for details.
Based on the box score:
- Fantastic defensive game. Held the #6 3pt shooting team (entering tonight) to under 30% from 3
- Hunter with another great rebounding performance. 10 points as well. Does anyone know if he posted up at all or if they were mostly open dunks?
- Bishop with nice game even with him going 0-5 from 3
- Seems like Brayon had a fantastic game. 15pts 5 boards and 5 assists
- Adams big from 3 tonight
- Did Ricky not play much? Nice to see his rebounding numbers up but his offensive performances of dipped significantly
Really nice to get a much needed road win. Props to the team for toughing out the win

Indeed. Seems a third thing has joined death and taxes in being inevitable...

Lindo had a bad night (think Mikaela Shiffrin at the third gate). He pulled himself out at one point with what appeared to be an injury, but returned later. This is one he will want to forget. His play and Brown´s inability to avoid getting a foul call on him every time he exhaled led to an Amir Harris sighting, however.

Brendan Adams gets the Player of the Game Chain:

Although it rarely happens, I may be forced to admit I was wrong. I could not see this team winning more than 2 or 3 conference games, and it was even a struggle to think about which games were winnable. We are now 5-5 and while not in the top of the league, we are hardly anyone's pushover as of late. I damned the coach earlier, now I will praise him. Well done.

I would have given it to Freeman because he dominated Fernandes and was the key to making them pay for all the attention on Bishop.
But Adams played phenomenal defense all game and hit some big threes, so he’s definitely worthy. (If I were the coach, I might have given it to Adams, too, because he played great and we need him confident).

Phew! 7th place in the A-10 and a couple of games clear of the Wednesday Night Pillow Fight.
George Mason beat Richmond in OT so we are in 8th, but your point remains.

I did the same, LSF. Had a parlay that also included Davidson (and other games). Davidson almost killed me.
Happy to see GW win. I feel like they are definitely becoming a team that nobody wants to see in the A-10 playoffs. We could be an easy out or a struggle for a top team.

Besides Bishop And Freeman playing out of their minds at times, two underrated things happened tonight ...
5 guys in double figures = balance on offense
41-29 rebounding edge and only 6 offensive rebounds given up = we are getting better on the boards
Still a lot of work needed but we are trending in the right direction, Also won 7 of last 12 most of those in A-10.

Allow me to join you in the Have You No Faith Circle of Shame. Although I can point to the fact that I saw the URI game as a turning point. The locker room videos after that game showed me this team believed in each other and that they were figuring out how to turn a corner TOGETHER. Coach too. Not saying they are a good team yet by any means. But the litmus test for me was always will they show progress and improve as the year went on. Took awhile for that to present, but it is presenting.

As a huge fan of our coach and a believer that we are on the right course, I am feeling pretty good after tonight. The team chemistry is improving game by game; we are scoring more and have played strong defense the last two games; and our players are finding their niche. (such as Brendan Adams)
Raise very high!

There is plenty of room on the GW bandwagon. Look it was frustrating to watch this team but while people chalked it up to excuses, everything that just about could go wrong was going wrong from injuries, to near misses in recruiting, to COVID, to unexpected transfers. We were stuck in a rut. But I can tell you that JC has never wavered and while he is happy with the recent progress he is by no means satisfied - it has only made him more determined to get this right. Lot's of basketball left to be played. Enjoy the win and let's hope for an even better performance at Dayton.
