Can we cut it to 20? LOL

Dayton has played in a national championship. We went to the Sweet 16 once.

38 minutes of garbage time and no Nixon sighting. I wish someone can tell us what the story is with that.

Was just thinking the same thing. He must be a recent amputee?

Knapp,cold as can be,can swish a 3 pointer.

Nixon was busy removing Chump's cell phone records on Jan. 6 and has been in hiding since. Must be.

And everybody gets free chicken thanks to 2 late FT misses. Dayton GW

Classy to give out something when opponent misses.

And Nixon enters the game and scores a point.

Need a shower after that one. I'd be up for the Patriot League or CAA at this point (if Colonial Athletic Conference changed its name first, of course).

And with that, he loses a year of elligibility. Yet another "memorable" moment from today´s game.
I am switching to the Tuloun-Bordeaux (Top 14 rugby) game, maybe it will be more competitive.

Clearly the missing piece from a victory today.

Prevented an Amber Alert,though

So we know he isn't injured and we know he isn't suspended. In a lost season like this one is, it remains a mystery to me why he can't get off the bench. If he is part of the teams future, then play him. The only way not playing him makes sense to me is if he already has a foot out the door. Can almost ask the same thing about Amir, who plays precious few meaningful minutes.

Or Knapp. Who's probably so rusty that it wouldn't even be a fair chance if we got one.
Or why we didn't empty the bench when we were way down,to save injuries when the game was lost, and earlier at least for a minute or so,to send a message about trying hard. Or to provide a spark.

The difference between Knapp and Nixon is Knapp clearly isn't part of the future and presumably Nixon is. But if anything, if there was a game for Kanpp to get 5-6 minutes, this was the one.

Knapp was 1-1 from beyond the arc with no fouls or turnovers. Bishiop was 1-8 from threepointland with two fouls and a turnover.
Let the great flaming debate begin...

Disclaimer: I went to the women's game and planned to watch a replay of the men's game but it hasn't been posted on ESPN+, so I didn't watch what you all watched.
I think many of you are being dramatic and overreacting. This team has outperformed my expectations so far this season and I never expected them to be remotely competitive on the road against Dayton. The talent isn't even in the same hemisphere, not to mention the coaching. They will be fine and probably win at Duquesne this week before coming home. In my opinion, as long as we aren't in the pillow fight, the season shouldn't be considered a failure.
As for the rotations and starters staying in after the game was decided, I agree. I don't understand why Bishop and Bamisile are still on the floor risking injury and preventing bench players from playing when the team is down 20+ points with 8 minutes left.
I would love to see Daniel Nixon but it seems like he just isn't in the plans this season (and at this point I would be pretty surprised if he didn't transfer). Here's what JC said when asked about why Nixon hasn't played this year (after the SLU game):
“Yeah, he's a good player, you know, he's gotten a lot better. Sometimes these freshmen transitions take a while. And he's really played better as of late in practice. He's kind of starting to really show who he is as a player. And it's hard. He's a guard. So he's in there with Brendan Adams, James Bishop, Joe Bamisile, Brayon Freeman. He's got a pretty good room of guys there that can all really play. You know, he's got five guys right there that are pretty talented. He does a great job of learning from those guys and he could be really ready to play at some point this year if he has to do that. I think he's really bought into the process of getting better as of late. And when I say as of late I mean the last two months he's been outstanding and he's actually getting better. So it's been, you know, he's got a chance to be a good player. I don't know if it'll be this year. But I definitely have confidence in the way he's been working lately that he's gonna be a good player at some point in his career.”
The characterization of him as a guard is interesting to me, but maybe gives an insight into why he
hasn't played as much as we were expecting this season, since the backcourt has so much talent.

If you'd seen the game, the commentary was restrained. It's not just us,it was also the announcers. It was annoying from them repeatedly, but it was the truth.
Good recap on the Nixon mystery.Interesting that Daniel is being reclassified as a guard. Still listed as a forward on the roster as of this evening.
If he is a guard,it seems to be double miss in recruiting a player who can hardly sniff the court. And this team could use someone who 6'7 and 225 as a forward, which was also obvious when he was recruited last year. And more so,when we brought in transfer guards.
As JC pointed out,we have plenty of guards.
