Georgetown actually set the record for losses because the Big East played 18 conference games when the 1994 Miami Hurricanes and 2009 DePaul Blue Demons went winless. Maybe Georgetown should have lobbied to make up the 20th conference game to avoid going winless!! What was also funny about this game is, Xavier was up by 20+ for most of the game, but they didn't take their starters out until under a minute left, Xavier's coach wasn't going to allow Ewing to full-court press his back-ups in order to make the final score look respectable or competitive!! Xavier had lost 5 or 6 in a row coming into this game(after appearing to be an NCAA lock earlier in the year), so it looked like a winnable game. This was Georgetown's 20TH STRAIGHT LOSS!!
I'm very interested to see what will happen with Georgetown when the season ends in a few days. Despite having one of the worst seasons in the history of college basketball, it doesn't appear as if their fan base even cares enough to want changes. Maybe Ewing will just quit/resign and make it easy on the university, and they can make a clean break from the John Thompson Jr. "family tree." Posters on their board have brought up how Ronny Thompson actually has a high position within Georgetown because of his father, and it's bad for the program.

Phenomenal OVC final with Murray St barely edging Morehead St.
Johnni Broome from Morehead is the real deal, but he needs better guards. He would be the PERFECT piece for us (he’s a better version of Ohams or Oduro - he can go high major if he wants, but if he goes to the A10, he would still dominate (whereas if he goes to like Kentucky, he may find it tougher like Obanor at Texas Tech this year).
No idea if he’ll transfer, but man I would love that guy on GW.

When JTIII was fired I said it was a mistake on the board. Look at G'town right before him, with him and since he was fired.
JTIII brought them to the Final 4, A Sweet 16, 8 NCAA trips in 10 years (and 2 NITs) 9 NCAA Tourney wins, the last 2 years were bad but he had done enough to survive one big downturn, and what exactly is Georgetown without a Thompson at the helm? What's the track record there without Father or Son??
6 of the 7 seasons before JTIII they did not make the tourney. 8 of his first 10 they did.
Murray St is going to win an NCAA tourney game, that's the team you don't want to draw, and almost a bid thief there so for the A10 bubble teams, that's good. For fans of some non Power teams in the tourney though, nice to see a cinderella team get in like Moorehead St

Loyola Chicago, which is joining the A1 next year helps the brand by winning the MVC and making the dance. Plus, if they lost they might have knocked an A10 team off the bubble. Will be fun to play them next year, especially if we can get some quality bigs.

Big add landing Loyola Chicago
Enormous upset, with awful Nebraska beating Wisconsin, at Wisconsin. How bad is Nebraska? they came into the game 2-16 in Quad 1 and Quad 2
Memphis and Michigan each got big wins today, that might be enough to lock both of them in. Maybe not if they follow it up with a 1st game Conf tourney loss, but two big wins.
Rutgers wins, barely, to get their 12th win in the Big 10, 6 of them Quad 1 wins. That should just about do it for the GW troika

Also, I'd be remiss not to mention the Duke loss for Coach K's final home game.
The guy's had an incredible career, and deserves for sure a send-off, but that was naseauting over the top, and hey, their arch rivals are in the building and they're there to play, What a great karma win.
#2 How far has the ACC fallen that a 13-5 North Carolina team entered that game on the bubble and with just 1 Quad win??
Georgia Tech, BC, really across the board, the ACC has declined, what's happening there? Also, it seems all those teams they yanked out of the Big East, all fared better in the Big East. Syracuse, BC, they had great rivalries with Big East schools, not sure people you can sell BC vs Wake Forest

Crazy ending to the DC State Title game played at Smith Center. Sidwell wins on a put back reminiscent of Carl Elliott/Joe McDonald.
It’s so awesome for GW that they play the game at the Smitty. Looked like it was a great atmosphere last night too!

The WCC has their Semis tonight at 9pm and 11 PM on ESPN
Huge year for the WCC which is up across the board.
Gonzaga vs San Fran and St Marys vs Santa Clara. BYU who is on the bubble lost to San Fran.
Towson vs Delaware Semis on CBS Sports, features 3 GW players, JNJr, TNJr and Chase Paar. JNJr looks like the best player on the court, which includes Villanova transfer Dylan Painter.
Towson has top 65 KenPom and NET ratings, this is a really good team, but they have work to do in the 2nd half must win game for their NCAA tourney hopes (0-2 Quad 1 2-0 Quad 2)

Delaware beats Towson.
Jameer Jr is one win away from the Dance. 18 years after his father led a #1 seed into the NCAAs, looks like his son may be headed back, Final tomorrow night

Delaware vs UNCW Final tonight for a trip to the Dance.
#1 Gonzaga and #15 St Mary's showdown out west for the WCC title.
Well looks like 6-25 Georgia is firing Tom Crean. 1-17 in the SEC in year 4 I guess took him down. Or the 20.8% win rate in SEC play over 4 years.

Georgetown vs Seton Hall 9:30 FS1 - Georgetown's season will probably end tonight at Madison Square Garden with 21 STRAIGHT LOSSES!! It's come out in recent days that Georgetown and Ewing agreed to a secret 3 year extension after they won the Big East Conference Tournament last year so firing Ewing may not be an option because they don't want to be on the hook for the rest of the contract. When/If Georgetown's season ends tonight, it's going to be interesting hearing how Georgetown justifies keeping Ewing..
Rhode Island and La Salle advanced in the Play-In/Consolation games today

The bracketologists have moved Seton Hall to a lock so that game looks like gravy to them. G'town put out some comments about Ewing returning so will be interesting to see. Crean had to be less than zero chance of return, can Ewing and Oregon St's Tinkle survive these seasons? Linked again this year.
Buddy Boeheim has been suspended a game vs Duke tomorrow for a sucker punch into a guy's gut.
Asked for comment Pops said "he was pushed... and you know you have to protect yourself" Classy as always. He wasn't pushed, it was a box out. Quite an example he sets!
Oregon St was in the Elite 8 last year They are 3-28 this year
In what will certainly be the last game of the Tom Crean era in Georgia, Georgia loses by 35 to a dreadful Vandy team in the play-in game. Crean finishes 6-26 and 1-17 in league play. Lets hope UMASS cares so little for their duck Coach Thursday night!

Mason blowing bunnies and FTs down the stretch, about to go down to Fordham.

Providence beats Butler, Jair didn't get into the game. The great Ed Cooley gets to 24-4, close win after close win, all year.
Fordham wins, to get to 16-15, a resurgent year for Fordham, picked dead last, 14th in the A10.
in the last 7 seasons, only 5 schools out of 358 have won 20+ games a year
Gonzaga and Kansas, not much a surprise. Houston and Creighton sort of surprising. only one small school, Belmont.
No Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina,etc.

Maceo playing today in the MAC Tournament for Buffalo. Tied at Half..

I don't think Jair has played in a while, he's been a healthy scratch!! It looks he got recruited over during the offseason.
Indiana beat Michigan 74-69, IU trailed by 17 in the 2nd half. I believe that was considered an NCAA tourney play-in game for both teams, so Michigan may be headed to the NIT now.
Syracuse lost today without Buddy Boeheim, but I was surprised to see that he actually finished the game against Florida State after he threw the punch. How could the refs not review the play? Did the FSU player not tell his coach that Boeheim punched him? Syracuse probably would have won(and had a good shot at winning the tournament after knocking off Duke) if Boeheim played so justice was served!!
Georgetown was actually competitive for the entire game against Seton Hall but were unable to execute in the final seconds and lost. It looks like Patrick Ewing will return because they are too cheap or are afraid of the Ghost of John Thompson Jr. to make drastic changes. Down below is a post from an anonymous former Georgetown player who bashes the program and the influence John Thompson and his family have.

I take back what I said about wanting to Davidson to draw Iowa. They look like an offensive juggernaut (61 points at the half) and they’ve played like this for a couple of weeks. I think it’s going to take a physical team to beat them, not a Davidson.
