    Before everyone goes wild over how we lost him perhaps you should know he wasn't able to be admitted to GW at the time he should have been admitted. Had that not happened he was coming here. So nothing to see here for us except as it relates to admissions being far too strict. Also, there may be a connection to this and why certain other things happened with respect to the previous staff (although it was not the only thing involved and maybe not the most important thing involved).

    Good to know. To be clear, it was admissions (GPA, tests, etc.) and nothing to do with his visa or what not? Appreciate the update

    Believe it had to do with requisite courses/grades - you have to have so many credits in different disciplines. The New Zealand educational system course descriptions were vague and GW chose to interpret them in the most restrictive way is my understanding meaning he would have had to do a prep year here to clean things up on his transcript to be admitted to GW. I think once that became apparent he wanted to decommit and see what his other options were. GW Basketball really had no choice here but to move on.

    I'll add UMass.  The whole Frank Martin Experience this offseason moved them up my list of hated A-10 teams.

    A-10 would be ironic. Thought he supposedly had high-level suitors.

    The dude is a one-man disaster relief clothing drive with all the university swag he has received during his endless search for a place to matriculate til the end of the college basketball season. Good to see GW isn’t the only school with an admissions bar that requires some level of academic achievement. GWRising had this one called a long time ago. Hate to say it but Melania’s green jacket message says it all on this one.

    This off-season has been brutal. Lost our two best players to the portal (including one to an in-conference rival) and our ex-top recruit of all time goes to a different in-conference rival.
