Incredible stuff, considering how many games were lost to the pandemic and how much of this season remains.

A very nice read.

Great piece - can always count on Feinstein to focus on the non-P5 schools.
I also like it when he rags on the number of TV timeouts and their length. Watched a game last week in which the final 1:48 took >25 minutes. At least 5 timeouts, 3 of which were full, plus 2 lengthy stoppages for the refs to decide on out-of-bounds plays. Excruciating and damn near unwatchable.
Need to limit length of full timeouts (now take 3 minutes) and give revs 2 minutes to decide or the call on the floor stands. I know it’s all about the $ but come on.
”Non-Colonials” - a winner?

Yes. Wonderful column by Feinstein. He really captures how good Bishop has become.

GW will need a strong finish as a team for James get back in POY race. Lets hope for a strong finish to the season for GW and James

25 points 6 assists and 3 super clutch Free Throws for the win
How $ is JBIV in late game situations???

26 points 6 assists 5 rebounds 2 blocks 2 steals for James Bishop in another GW road win, a monster in OT.
Is there any doubt who should be the 2023 A10 POY???
If not James, who??
“He’s actually become a virtuoso of decision-making,” GW Coach Chris Caputo said of Bishop. The last three games, he’s been perfect. I’ve looked at the film; I’m not exaggerating. He’ll miss shots, but his decision-making is perfect.”

I sure can't think of anyone who has come further as a team player and a positive force over the past 3 years. Watching him 3 years ago may have been the most painful experience I've ever had watching GW Basketball since the 1960's (Yes, I was at every home game for Clint Holtz's 1-29 squad). While I still sometimes wish he'd play a bit harder on Defense, it's now a considerable pleasure, by and large, to watch him lead the team. A-10 POY, OK !

Other than JBIV is there even a clear POY top choice??
Oduro?

If past history is an indicator, POY will come from a top 4 team. The last time the POY came from outside of the top 4 was Khalif Wyatt of Temple in 2012-13. They were 5th.
Likely candidates are:
Holmes, Camara, Collins, Baldwin
If Mason can somehow sneak into a double bye (it's mathematically possible but extremely unlikely) then I guess Oduro is a candidate, but otherwise I don't see the voters breaking with tradition.
If I had a vote, I'd go with Collins for breaking the A-10 all-time assist record. Sort of a career award. If I had to bet on it, I'd say Camara.

Bishop is on pace to finish the year 12th on GW’s all time scoring list. He will be behind only Corky Devlin for players that played for the Colonials for 3 years or less.

Saw someone on Twitter saying DaRon Holmes was a she in. It’s going to be hard for JBIV to win it on a .500 team, especially since some voters will consider defense. If there were an award for offensive player of the year, he’d win it easily.

Agree he'd be a lock for offensive player of the year.
JBIV Holmes Collins would get my 1-2-3 vote for POY
Any other candidates???

29 points 9 assists for James Bishop IV and another win for GW.
With 3 straight wins and incredible play from JBIV, back in the POY race right???

@GW_MBB
JBIV is just the second GW player EVER with 600+ points and 150+ assists in the same season, joining Shawnta Rogers in 1998-99. #RaiseHigh
